Don't forget Liverpool, this is the year.

:D

To be honest I think that with the players they have now they will be back up there. Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Liverpool and Tottenham all have top quality midfielders. I have been waiting for a few years for us to get seriously found out in a league campaign due to a lightweight midfield and this could be the year.

I just can't see any other team other then Chelsea good enough to come close to us this season, city will sack there manager before Xmas and Liverpool and arsenal are mid table teams now

Have you been drinking sir?

Chelsea have a stronger squad than us and have added to it. City should have a stronger squad than us come the start of the season.

Tottenham have strengthened and if they sort out a top class striker they will be a strong team.

Liverpool have added a few players and if they can keep Suarez and Sturridge scoring they will do well.

Arsenal are in a similar position. If they get a top class striker and get Wilshere fit again they will be good to go.

We were flattered last year massively in the PL and I would be astonished if it is anything like as closed as last year.

I wrote a whole long post about Chelsea and why they should win it with ease but lost 3G as I posted it.

Basically, I think Chelsea can do the treble with a couple of additions and in form strikers.

Of course, we're **** and everyone else is great, how could I forget :o

Seriously mate, your posts are starting to get stranger and stranger. I don't know if you realise but there are not just the two strengths of side as you seem to think. Nowhere have I said we are **** but in football you play against opposition and if they are stronger than you and player better football, you probably won't win.

In all fairness, last season you were the best of a very poor league. Chelsea, Arsenal, and City are all strengthening. Liverpool and Spurs are too, although I'd still expect both to be a ways off. You need to strengthen. The league will not be won by such a weak team again.

Long ball football with two 30 mill strikers who are decent pays off over the average. Plus q reliance on other teams crumbling to the pressure of playing against utd.

Unfortunately the fear factor is dwindling especially in europe with small clubs now not accepting they will auto matically lose 5-1 at OT.

Sunderland being very busy so far, any of the players any good though?

nobody knows

some are a gamble..some (like Diakite and Giaccherini are extablished Serie A players or Cabral ) will be better quality by a long way than we already had. some are just youn and are for the development squad..so Karlsson, el hadji ba and the greek winger mavrias are all 18/19..so not very experienced, but we are taking a punt on potential (mavrias has already played over 60 games for panathinaikos mind)

they are all away in italy at the moment at a training camp (Di Canio calls it a football boot camp) but they were all back at domestic training before most other teams..and doing the business early instead of the last day of the window as we used to do means they get plenty of time together

it will be a much younger team this coming season..and they cannot play any worse so anything will be an improvement!

We gave real Madrid a run for there money last year , and outclassed every other team in prem so I am not worried about next season

I didn't see us outclass every other team in the league. I saw RvP scoring a number of goals that very few strikers would have pulled off. I saw a distinct lack of form from any direct competitors and I also won't place too much emphasis on being able to nearly beat RM over two games.

We are not a bad side. We are a very good side but that is no longer enough to win the top trophies and I doubt it will be good enough to win the league without some serious re-enforcements.

His contract only has another year to run. Dortmund won't be able to stop him come January.

So on top of everything else, Dortmund will be losing him on a free!?!?!

Seeing how Gotze has been vilified by the Dortmund faithful since news of his defection became known, I'll be impressed if Lewandowski is breathing this time next year if they aren't going to see a penny for him!!!

@SwansOfficial
We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Wilfried Bony for £12m on a four-year deal. More to follow. #donotgogentleswans

Swansea are building some team here!! Wish Newcastle would pick the pace up and start signing targets...
