Question for the Mods re: giveaway

Can a Mod tell me if this will be allowed?

I've got a giveaway starting on Monday over on GoodReads where you can win a signed copy of my paperback. The site doesn't sell the book, I'd just like the good folks here to have the opportunity to enter.

However I see this could be seen as business promotion (it isn't, writing is a hobby!)

I can't help with your problem but every time I see your username I read it as "LordSplooge". I think that says more about me as a person than I'd like it to

people have announced on here before when they have put there ebook on the river website as a freebie

I guess it's not really any different aslong as you don't come across as trying to get sales

I'd say do it if it's removed then you've got your answer, this forum is a little like the law, very sketchy and left entirely up to the mods discretion.

No that was Edrof, I think. I've been active on these forums a lot longer than I've been an author, and even longer before I was in paperback!

My threads got nuked so there will be no record of them that we can see. Shame as I was chuffed to make it to number 9 in the science fiction best sellers list but couldn't crow about it!
