As I've said before, MU buying Fabregas is an absolute no-brainer, especially if they can get him for under £30m. It's hard to see him being anything other than a huge success:

-Proven in the EPL, IMO he was the best player in the league in his position before he left
-A creative, vibrant central midfielder to play alongside Carrick is EXACTLY what MU need, the only other player who could potentially fill that role is Kagawa but it remains to be seen where Moyes sees him fitting in
-Has a very, very good understanding with RvP, his runs will be much more effective with Cesc feeding him
-Good age, could easily get 5 years out of him at the top level
-Speaks good English

Moyes should make him the #1 priority, the only other players who could have the same impact on MU as Cesc would be Messi, Ronaldo and Bale but they would all cost at least twice as much if they were able to get them at all.

It will end up costing them twice as much. £28m from Arsenal is worth more than £50m from Man U to Barca. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ned-by-clauses-in-his-Barcelona-contract.html

This 50% of the profit crap is just that. Crap.

Being reported by various Spanish media outlets that Negredo is a done deal as well. £21.6m + 2.5m Bonuses.
Negredo and Jovetic could be announced tomorrow apparently.

I haven't seen him play but read plenty of good things. Out and out goal scorer with a very decent record for a team like Sevilla.

Are we talking City here?

I don't think Suarez is worth 35m +. Also, apparently Chelsea are now in the running for Higuain. Arsenal have made a lovely mess of it yet again.

Higgy to Chelsea and lose out on Suarez to RM. Pitiful.

Who knows what is going on with Higuain. If you read some reports we have bid and agreed with the player verbally. Then the RM director says they havent had any bids for him.

Its too confusing...

Earlier he was going to Liverpool in part exchange.

I've seen more believeable stories from Harry Potter novels than the transfer market this summer. :p

I know. I'm a sucker for the transfer window and hate hot weather. Part of me wishes I could go to sleep and wake up on opening day to save me all the stress.

Not a cat in hell's I'm afraid.

Fab was stunned to buggery when RVP joined Utd. I can't see him doing the same. He has already stated Barca and Arsenal are his only clubs.

Arsenal are clever negotiators. I fully believe the first option and 50% transfer fee do exist as Barca would not have envisaged selling him.

In that case, if Arsenal bid £25m, then any other club would have to stump up £50m to match it. No club will do that, not even Utd.

Plus, Thiago's just gone, they wont sell both. Non starter I'm afraid. Actually, I think it's a very puzzling bid truth be told.

While I agree it's unlikely, it's certainly possible. There's no factor making a deal impossible.

Again, I'd have to assume we've had some sort of indication the player would be open to a move or something along those lines, at least I'd hope so anyway.

This is what ***** me off the most about Thiago fiasco.

While Utd may not have made a bid (which due to exercising the buy-out clause, was always likely to be the last stage of that transfer, rather than the 1st as with most transfers), it was that Thiago's dad / agent appeared to meet Utd at least once, if not twice - and everything appeared so positive).

Yet as Pep was so interested, I would be very surprising if this wasn't always the plan - so why waste Utd's time (as if Pep hadn't already spoken to the player, who he probably already had his /his agent's/dad's tel no anyway).

Thiago was always a long shot - getting Cesc is boarding on the "pigs might fly". I seriously hope the fellani rumours stay as just that, one player I really don't want to see wearing an Aon sponsored shirt next season.

IMO United have the same chance as arsenal buying Surez for 30m as u do for fabregas i.e very very slim chance.

i have a question for u Robbo. what if barca do agree terms but fabregas says no? Clubs cant force a player out and as someone clearly noted, Fabregas apparantly played more games then xavi and iniesta last year.

It seems that fabregas is becoming more of a important first team role at Barcelona so why would they sell and sell for peanuts ie 30m?

Come to think of it, fabregas going to United is more of a slim chance of surez going to arsenal. Surez actually wants to leave and Liverpool have indicated how they have been annoyed at him for his on and off field antics.

Thoughts?

Negrado at City just sounds so bizarre. He is a target man, a lot like a Soldado or Fred. They already have Dzeko to play that role. Would've thought they'd go after someone else. Someone to replace Tevez.

Jovetic is the replacement for Tevez and Dzeko hasn't shown himself to be a good target man he is quite poor at holding the ball up, battling with defenders, bringing other people into play but he has shown his ability to stick the ball in the net which thankfully he is very good at.
Negredo could well be the replacement for Dzeko also, as I say its only Dortmund who have shown an interest. With Lewandowski off next summer a deal may already be in place for Dzeko to go there as his replacement.

Get Negredo in now firstly because we need another striker and secondly because it gives him a year to get used to the prem. When Dzeko leaves he can then step up and replace Dzeko and hopefully Guidetti will be fit and ready to prove himself as well.

Lololol...any of you Man u Fans that actually think there is a small chance of Fab going to United, need your head examined!. I'm gobsmacked that it's true United bid 25m for him, is that not a slap in the face? Surely is... Sold for 35 odd mil, joins Barca and learn his trade off arguably one of the best floating cm's ever, gains a load more experience, surely he's worth what he was sold for.

Don't forget arsenals share. Barca would get a whole 12.5m for him :p

You can't blame them for dreaming, but dreaming is all it is.
