well said, I can honestly say I'm better than my league at the moment and my results are proving it. I also feel better about the game, I too felt disillusioned by bronze and then silver. at one point i'd hit such a slump i was playing with people so bad it was really a case of win lose win lose win lose win lose it does stagnate


All in all the match making system does seem absolutely terrible at times and I do think it could be tightened up I just played a game vs a varus who was not of equal skill at all. he was a bronze 3 classic. one of those eventually if the game goes on for long enough I'll out farm my opponent but he was scaling the wrong spell (e not Q) harassing me with little dmg and letting me (caitlyn) farm him to oblivion. I just cleared wave after wave then prodded ali or him a bit.

He never went back when i did he always stayed for that extra creep wave which just meant he had no mana when i came back to lane and any creep he got back was given straight back to me as i zoned him. Then he would have to Back and we would kill his support.

but if you check lol nexus his whole team bar one was bronze III/II and mine was silver with positive win/lose ratios which means it's highly unlikely that we can all be a similar elo. and the game was so one sided it looked that way too. We didn't end it when we should but they were so far behind that they couldn't snail it. finished 15-3 -12 with 338 minions breaking godlike twice.

From my intense gaming this past week I would have to say the mistakes people in bronze and low silver make are vast and obvious (my eyes have been opened). Most common one is not going back. Trying to life steal or heal when you are low with little mana is a bad idea. You basically zone yourself out of farm if you come forward to farm leona stuns you and you are dead.

Where as if you go back you can buy half an item and come back to lane with an advantage.

Bronze adc's struggle to multi-task. They are usually so absorbed on either harass or farm they fail at both. Take varus he has a Auto attack mechanism where you can fire his q inbetween auto attacks. but people don't do it they all try to get the max out of tehir Q Any dmg you can do for free on your opponent whilst not losing farm is good damage.

People don't think about their builds They have one way to build and they stick to it. If you can afford a BF why would you buy a bilgewater and boots. but they still buy the boots
Come back to lane with 40 dmg more than your oponent you can A clear faster B do more damage in exchanges. Why buy Armour pen when none of the enemy team has any real armour. I know it's your normal build but come on people you could buy and early GA instead of that last whisper you didn't need.

Supports getting drawn into ward battles. Pinks are for dragon and baron you don't have to place one every time your oponent places a green. Infact you only need vision when you are pushed. and if you are pushed it doesn't matter if they have a pink they can't get to your green to remove it.... My opponent support kept pinking my greens so I set him up put a green down he went for it vayne stunned him in the brush I pulled him punched and vayne killed him. 3 minutes later I've made him waste his pink wards on the lane brush and he has no river visibility or pink for dragon. GG

And finally people who get farmed never think about the end game they always go full damage. Darius is a fine example of this he goes 8 - 0 in lane and then buys pure damage sure he can one shot varus now but what about in 10/15 mins time when varus has 30% life steal and botrk and 250 dmg...

If that darius had bought a warmogs and a frozen mallet with his farm he would crush everyone becuase he would take all of the enemy teams focus to kill....... You see it over and over again.
 
Some interseting stuff there,a nd some things i know i do myself. I mainly play adc but have seen myself playing a fair bit of support if adc is taken and i admit, i end up in these ward battled all the time over say a bottom brush or something. Would you miss of a purple ward from the opening shop then? I always imagined i needed to purple ward the river to keep things clear for ganks.

Also, when exactly should you be going back then as adc to buy? I always try to leave my first time until i have 1550 for my bf sword unless im forced to and then i would get the vamp sceptre.
 
I never buy pink ward at start. I used to but never really used it so took it away from my opening, so now I have beads, charm, 2 green, and 2 red pots. (+purple ward & biscuit)

This means I need very little lane time to get the philo stone and start earning gold asap. It doesn't really matter if they pink your river ward, if you have any map awareness you will know exactly where it is and you can just put a green ward out of the radius and carry on as normal. Your not contesting for anything that early in the game so let them waste 125g.

and junglers that say 'no pink no gank' - should not be junglers full stop.

Also dont forget support is probably about to change dramatically soon, the changes to the iron solari and aegis (from must have items to no one will bother with them now) will basically mean supports are going to become mini ad's/ap's - which is exactly how i'm playing Janna at the moment so can understand why there doing this. Gone are the days where supports actually buy support items, they will just do the bulk of warding and spec to suit the matchups.

Been practicing my Twisted Fate a lot recently, as i used to suck really hard on him, and never win lane.

Now i rarely lose as him, in the past games as him, every time i've teleported bottom i've picked up a double kill.

He is such a good champ if you want to get from silver > gold, people can't deal with the fact you can just teleport gank their lane.

The way i got my self to rise from bronze 4 > almost silver 2, was improving myself and not complaining about other peoples skill level in ranked, about 9 months ago i used to get really angry with the game in ranked, i would always complain about how bad other people were doing, not realising that the negativity i was creating would be our downfall. Not to mention i was playing bad also.

After spending around 3 months in a ranked team with some good clan friends, i noticed that i played a lot better not critcising others and began to imrpove in myself dramaticaly, then going into ranked i would take the role as team leader, calling shots and boosting morale of the team, 9/10 times we would win the game, i'd usually get complimented on how good i treated other people and i began to rise, set yourself a reasonable goal for the season, my goal was to get from bronze to gold, and im almost there now, don't think that you're going to get from bronze to diamond, focus on getting to silver then to the next and it'll feel good.

People complain about Afkers a lot, don't, i won a game were our adc disconnected for 10 mins and our jungler kept disconnecting throughout the game, while this was happening i was getting fairly fed in the mid lane, and when the adc came back we didn't flame them, we just stated that we would wait till they catch up before we go ballsdeep into the enemy, with us waiting it out it allowed us to be on level with the enemy, a lot of people complain about Afkers, but when they are on the other team its instantly funny, there is no point in laughing about it, think about how you felt when you had a disconnect.

Just keep trying and eventually you will Ryze see what i did there?

This is pretty much the start and the end of the story.

Focus on what you can influence. Your own game, that's it. You'll get an AFK or troll from time to time, but just deal with it. Don't let it get to you. Stop watching every point you win and lose.

You can focus on trolls and afks and baddies if you want but it will only negatively effect you and your chances of winning.

The most effective way to win more regularly is stop caring so much about other peoples game, and care more for your own.

Bit preachy but that's the bottom line.

Hmm I'm not sure, the latest supports seem to be forgoing everything for wards. So you have 2 wards they have 4/5. What does this mean - well gold wise they are behind at the start but they can stay in lane far longer. As soon as I realise the other support doesn't have a pink I can ward the river (not the brush) or remove their green without worrying about losing my pink.

A support should not leave his ad - so the gold advantage you could get by a early return could leave your ad vunerable unless he is going back then which will be unlikely.

Agreed, when I play jung I don't pink ward at the start, I'll only pick up probably one ward to begin with - along with a hunters machete and red pots. After picking up the blue buff, wolves, wraiths, red, golems I'll have enough money to pick up a Spirit stone and more wards.

He is playing support - as a jungler I wouldn't disagree (wouldn't know tbh) with your choice but as support start items I would :)
 
The amount of awful adcs in this game is frankly shocking! Pushing to tower and twiddling their thumbs whilst their enemy farm up without penalty is pretty much in 8/10 of games I play in , allowing a support to easily help mid out if they have any sense.

It also allows you to go back frequently since the adc is basically doing nothing.

I've never really tried support, need to unlock Sona and give her a go really. Generally play every other lane other than support, just depends what every one else has taken!
 
Just had a ranked with fiddle as my support when i was Cait and it seemed to work really well. Didnt really think of him as support.

Sona is a great support but you do kinda attract the blame from a number of retards who seem to think that Crescendo is to be used only to save them after they've overextended and probably couldn't escape anyway.

Fiddle is being used by the Pro's on a couple of occasions in the recent league as support.

The problem I have with Fiddle (and I have tried him - Unlocked him actually) is that he's super squishy. The biggest plus with fiddle though is that he has the longest fear out of all champions.

Her main strength was blowing people up. They nerfed that and pros decided they valued other picks more and this filtered down. She still has a strong skill set but someone like J4 is more forgiving.

Got into my promo series for gold won 2 lost 3 :(. Then qualified again and won 3 in a row with the last game featuring a duo top lane ap taric and blitz :O.

I support for adc too if i can't adc and I have to say my ADC has improved from supporting a gold ADC for a few days.


Another thing i never mentioned is When to ward, you ward when you push You never leave your ADC if your on your tower or near it. Only leave him when he's past half way with lane pressure advantage. the only time you need vision is whlist you are pushing/pressuring lane. If I see the enemy support go to ward when he's on his tower we try to kill him... it's worth making him blow flash or go back to heal.

I try to rush philo stone but if you get enough gold buy a sightstone immediately it's worth more than any gp5 item 2 free wards every 3 minutes = 150 gold in 180 seconds thats 8 gold per 10. you're not spending on wards.

As for when to back.

if you are golem side of bottom go back when ever you can. and pick golems on the way back to lane (even go back and get them as often as possible screw the jungler your farm is worth way more. Go back when you have no farm to take or your low. If you see the enemy go back finish the wave and go back as-well unless you can clear the tower but no self respecting ADC will return if lane is under full pressure and he can do anything about it. I usually expend all my mana to finish the wave off fast if i'm planning on going back.

I would go back for a bf sword and boots if i can and not before but there is no point staying if you are low on hp or mana. and can afford an item you will use. coming back to lane with 10 extra AD and full mana/hp can win you the lane for a few minutes.

Another AD mistake is taking the tower. Always take the creeps first!!! it's better their tower stays up and kills their farm. I always chuckle when they take my tower before 10 mins. becuase it allows me to zone the lane by my jungle for ganks once you hit 15-20 mins clear the tower ofc but the 150 gold won't make a huge difference to your farm but a tower to prevent wave build up further down his lane away from you is a good thing.

Congrats :)

During the weekend when i got into my promo series before the client broke and it made me fail my promo twice.... The first promo game i won and we had an ADC lulu, it was actually insane, she just wrecked everything like nothing i had seen before.
