*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Managed to reset my phone back to complete stock + removed flash counter, going to have to send it in for repair due to the overheating. It was okay at the start but it seems to be getting worse now; browsing for 10 minutes the phone will get as warm as 60 degrees. Gaming for 20-30 minutes the phone would just reboot in what I guess is excessive overheating. Let's hope Samsung will fix this, fingers crossed.

No option to Move Apps to SD

Hi All,
Just got my S4 from Amazon not a re-seller, I don't see any option to move apps to SD. Kernal version 3.4.0-526204. When does the official update get applied to enable this ?

It's not been rolled out to the SIM free handsets yet you'll have to flash it manually through ODIN or wait.

Are you aware that the GE comes in white only?

Never mind that, there's also the point that you can turn any s4 into the Google edition now as the ROM is freely available.

The bigger issue though is that the ge ROM is awful! Its so bare that you really may as well have bought a nexus 4.

So bare and lifeless that for example I flashed custom ROMs on both my nexus 4 and 7 when I had them.

Not minimalistic... bare, dull, boring!

When you quote firmware you need to show the last three letters of the build number, i.e. MEA

And its very easy to update via Odin.

I'm aware of that bud, but Jimlad wants GE out of the box.

Horses for courses.

Yep, I finally flashed the updated stock ROM the other day, now running MF8. (Non root) Coming from MDM, Nothing bad happened, all was super easy.

Just checked and there are two new version, MG3 and MGA, is it worth flashing the latest or not? :)

*I knew this was going to happen, I've flashed once and now I wanna do it again! lol

yep, totally aware of that but my personal view is its so bare that frankly you may as well have a nexus 4, the increase in specs on the S4 is going to be lost on that ROM.

S4 is worth it for the SAMOLED alone.

woot!

Then there's more storage bigger battery, better camera.

Took your sweet time ;):p

Not worth updating if your happy with your current ROM IMO.

Lol, yes I did. Just needed to find time, the unrooted roms DL is so slow... :/

I also did for a while have the 'if it aint broke dont fix it mentality'.

That said, It does seem slightly faster and more responsive on MF8. :)

Fair play, I'll leave it a while, see what comes about later in time.
