Fabregas probably wouldn't go back to Arsenal anyway and you'd have to question his and Suarez ambition if they chose to go to Arsenal. The height of their season is just about finishing 4th and celebrating like they've won the league.

They would certainly be challenging for honours with Suarez and Fabregas in the team..

No he really does not have the potential, I can think of less than a handfull of usefull actions he has done, the amount of game time he gets is just pathetic.

Yet he scored the goal in the Bernabeu...

I like Welbeck, you don't play for a club like Man Utd for most of your life, going through every youth team and then playing for the first XI by being ****.

He's still young, he if he doesn't start coming up with the goods he will know it is time to move on anyway.

We have this dragged up time and time again.

Crap players will still have games where they are not total gash.

Bentley scored a hat trick against against Manchester United, David Bentley is still crap.

Alfonso Alves scored a hat trick against city and 2 against United, Alfonso Alves is still crap.

Adebarndoor scored one of the best goals of the season against Chelsea, he is still crap.

Roque Santa Cruz, had an entire season where he was decent, but for the rest of his career? Crap.

Exactly. As much as I firmly believe I should be running Man United I have to accept at some point that the staff there have been watching Welbeck for years and still rate him.

Fergie could pay the team upside down and back to front (which I swear he has done on occasion) and get away with it. Moyes on the other hand will not have the luxury of picking Welbeck if he isn't performing and other players are.

Moyes is also hopeful that Danny Welbeck will rediscover his scoring touch. "When I arrived I was told how important Danny had been and how important he will be," said Moyes. "We're giving him an opportunity now and he has the chance to get some games. It would be worse if he wasn't getting chances. Hopefully he'll start taking a few of those chances and that will give him the confidence to go on a run and score a few goals."

So, let me get this right, Moyes has been in the job for a grand total of 19 days and is receiving advice/guidance from an individual who successfully managed United for over 25 years, and in your view he is a patsy?

Alex Ferguson built multiple Manchester United squads from the ground up, therefore he knows just a touch more about each individual player than armchair managers like yourself. He is obviously going to feedback to Moyes on attributes/ability/skill of each player, as Moyes hasn't trained and developed these players from either the youth academy or since they joined the team.

"At the same time we are trying to refuse to sell Rooney even if he hands a request in". In two press conferences Moyes has confirmed that Manchester United are not selling Rooney, no 'trying', no 'maybe', he is not for sale. What are you basing this information on? Nothing, just your silly uneducated opinion - as usual.

"And we are still trying to sign fabregas" - so trying to sign a proven world-class creative midfielder is a fault now? The businessmen and legal team behind transfers will have obviously been given the green light from either the players agent, club or player himself. Professionals don't just go throwing bids around willy nilly without some form of incentive.

Please leave your dribble for the pub down the road.

I bet if he played 39 league and cup games for Arsenal last season and only came up with 1 league goal and a CL goal then you would be slating him... not praising the fact he can play youth football very well.

This is getting dangerously team thread-y. Playing or not playing Welbeck is not transfer discussion.

Transfer news for United:

it seems Varela (our new right back) is possibly going to Boca on loan, so assuming no more signings I assume we'll start with Evra/Buttner and Rafael/Fabio as our options.

Seems we'll get more Fabregas news in the next few days, I'm surprised Barca haven't outright rejected it though?

Its not their ambition Arsenal just dont have billions to throw at the transfer market like the top three. Its nothing to do with ambition.

If Arsenal had Suarez and Fab you think they wouldnt be contenders for the title? Arsenal aren't far off the mark, the others teams aren't as good as they once were.

I'll let DM step in here and tell me why i'm wrong. :p

Prepare for the "WALL OF TEXT" :D

Quite a few people saying Barca could do with the money after getting Neymar.

So it seems that Ed Woodward did return to push through a deal for Fabregas, and we appear to be pretty confident a deal can be done...

Good lord, if this happens...

(Still think it's too good to be true but it's certainly a possibility)

Arsenal fans will go spare.

Didn't they release something earlier in the week sayinig he was happy to stay at the club?

£30m for Fab in an open market is a joke of a bid if thats the case. Arsenal were cornered into lowering the price as he only wanted to join Barca.

My name change bet still stands, he will not go to Utd this summer :p

Next season i could see him moving if he has not cemented his place in the side but not this summer.

We won't go spare because it wont happen. I think its quite amusing that people believe its going to happen.

Barca need the money so they are going to sell Fab for £30m? :p

I don't think anyone does really!

Which is another reason to be hopeful. All these 'nailed on' transfers never come off, but ones like RvP sometimes do.

No, he'll cost more than that I think, and rightly so.

Indeed, our attitude is very odd if it's as unlikely as people are making it out to be. We must have had some kind of indication from either the club, player or both that a move might be possible.
