But what use are they if the board is insisting Rooney stays? He cannot dictate the squad or signings which is why they wanted him as I've just explained m

Hey, I think he is the fall guy that you have brought in until you get who you really want (bad bad feeling its Klopp). IMO anyone would be stupid to take over after Fergie.

But I've said that as soon as Moyes was linked.

Sounds like we might have another target to fall through at some late stage lol

Arsenal came out of nowhere to declare their interest in the 5ft 5” attacker, with ESPN Brazil reporter Ale Oliveira quoting simply:

"Bernard is going to join Arsenal." Said Oliveira on Brazilian radio.

I've heard some good things about him. I wonder where he would fit into the team. Apparently he's been played mostly on the left but seems versatile enough to play across the midfield. Hopefully the rumours are true.

Hahaha :D

Tom's got a 2nd account? ;)

Unfortunately not

I'm not expecting Moyes to instantly win trophies or be a top European manager. But the fact of the matter is that Ferguson knows a hell of a lot more about managerial ability than 100% of the people on this forum, so I fail to see how NickG can keep on talking utter dribble?

Sir Alex Ferguson hand picked David Moyes, so your entire point is moot.

Also Malaga tried to poach Moyes, albeit not in the La Liga top 3 but still a recognised European club nonetheless.

Exactly what I said or tried to say. The only criteria he met was clinky clinky scotch whisky club.

It was a gift, a favour one scotsman to another. No business should be run like that.

If they had used any corporate governance he wouldn't have made the shortlist.

:D

While not a club transfer so to speak, it's still a potential move;

Match of the Day pundits could be ditched in major shake-up

Link.

Sorry about the terrible link to a terrible newspaper, but yaaaaay if true :D, also, how scary is it that they could bring in worse replacements .

I'm 24 and don't mind Hansen or Shearer at all and I like Lineker. As for Lawro though...

Please be Lawro, please be Lawro, please be Lawro - checks link...praise Jesus!

On a transfer note, anyone got any news on Bentekers?

Right so you're just trolling now, zzzz. Bore off.

Why is it trolling? He does have a point. Would any other top team hire a manager who has never won a trophy, whose team finished, on average, 40 points behind the champions constently and who had never beaten Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal away in 60 attempts?

Ferguson hadn't exactly won loads before joining Man Utd, and he didn't do too badly.

Did you see the tweet? So unbelievingly cryptic. I have zero hope or excitement for the new season, even more so with no first team signings. Just sign someone, anyone!

Well If we land Gomis and Bent I would be happy. We did sign 6 players in jan.

Colo staying is a huge boost.

If we have a fit and healthy squad we have a good season. We had a freak of a season with injuries last year. You only have to check out the injury charts to see how bad it was. No other team came close. Shocked we dint go down

It's world cup year so quite a few of our players would be playing out of their skins to get into the national team.

Knowing our luck this whole Pards/joe thing will imploded

Barcelona? Guardiola.

These threads are awesome, pages and pages of nothing in a really dire transfer window so far. :(

He won the league with Barcelona Atlètic, and took them into the Segunda División B, the season before he became the Barca boss. Not saying its a huge trophy but he had won something at least.

Fabregas is non transferable according to the guardian fiver.

negredo said 'pelligrini completely convinced me to join' also according to the fiver.

James mcfadden has returned to motherwell n

Oh well by that token Manu should have given the job to someone who had won the championship. Or to please Nick, Dennis Wise, knowledge of cup football and european experience. ;)

Guardiolas achievements were nothing greater than a Roy Hodgson before he got the Barca job.
