If you took over barca would you sell fab to utd? I certainly wouldn't. Who would he get in to replace him? Thiago...?

Stats wise he was one of their best players last year. Who wouldn't want fab pushing for a regular first team slot. He is a game changing player, one pass can make the difference with him.

Lottery odds on him going to utd if the new manager is sane

Thanks for clearing that up then.

Pardon? I don't understand.

If anyone was the Xavi replacement, it was Thiago, not Fabregas, he played further forward a lot.

But it's also quite simple; there isn't a Xavi 'replacement'. The system will adapt and change based on the quality players available. Just as there is no real Scholes 'replacement', Keane 'replacement' etc that United fans dream for.

Yeah, well that's it, replacement, successor , whatever you want to call it. Fabregas is the man that's going to take up one of those middle 3. I don't understand how Barcelona are entertaining these bids, i feel the board don't know what they are doing, they're obviously under pressure to recoup some money from the Neymar deal. I expect the next manger though to stamp out any deal happening, he's going to be too important for them over the next few years.

They do need someone at the back, Muniesa has just been let go, they had high hopes for him if i remember..

Only if you ignore his scoring rate at Ajax and ignore the dutch league...
I'm already aware of Suarez scoring history and you've almost answered yourself. You cannot use the goal ratio from the Eredivisie as gospel. It's only an indicator of maybe, I remember a lot of Chelsea fans raving about the signing of Mateja Kezman: "he's going to be our Van Niistelrooy, he's got a better scoring record" etc. Kezman was very disappointing.

If you're judging goal ratio in the Premier League, historically the ratios have suggested the truly elite strikers tend to be consistently above 0.7. Very good strikers tend to be around 0.6, and good strikers tend to be around 0.5. You need to allow some variation season by season for the current fashion for football style, the way the team plays, and obviously a player may contribute much more than goals.

Suarez at LFC has been 0.3, 0.35 and 0.7 in the league (plus all the assists and chance creation.) The trend is good and it's understandable that LFC would want well north of £40M. However the antics and attitude, the stated desire to leave England might mean that Surarez performance suffers in 2013/14. With FFP it looks like a hell of risk for an English club, I think any would be crazy to spend much more than £25M (if the performance does drop Suarez would still be worth that kind of fee.)

My conclusion: Suarez is unsellable to an English club. He should just STFU, work his butt off this season and give LFC some payback, then go abroad for maybe £50M+ next year if the performance can match this season.

Jesus...such touchy people. Trying to trip me up over the word replacement/successor.

No two people in the world are the same!

I was just pointing it out. :p

I think a lot of the Barca boards concerns will be with CB, at the moment.

Yes well it's clear that Thiago Silva is their #1 priority, but PSG are flat out refusing to sell him, so Barca need to cobble together whatever his release clause fee is.

Apparently Arsenal to sign Bernard, medical on Friday. Not exactly the position we wanted but quite excited about him. Looks like a better version of Walcott.

Gives us further options in those three positions, play maker and left, right wing/forward role.

Now go get Higuain wenger

Then if you have change go pick up fab :p

We have a defencive injury crisis at the moment. Ashley Williams is rumoured to be on the horizon oh and maybe Ceasar if he drops he's wage demands.

Sauce?

He sounds good on paper and can't be worse than Gervinho. Lets hope he can hack it at Stoke on a cold Tuesday night :p

All we need to do is sell Sagna, bring in another right back to compete with Corporal Jenkinson, send Diaby to the glue factory, buy Cesc from under United's noses, pay Monaco or Roma to take Gervinho, sign Higuain and stop being tight *******s and sign Cesar. Job done

l'equipe are usually a decent source when there's a french team involved but there isn't here. spurs need a player like bernard far more than arsenal do, so **** off wenger :p

Could still be just rumour, but it technically makes sense.

Gervinho off and Spurs who where also interested sign that Chadeli dude, meaning Bernad to Arsenal is feasably possible.
