I'd PREFER to work in the corporate sector in development, but I doubt there's anything UK based for that![]()
lol, magnolia is on fire in this thread
I think everyone should work in retail at least once, if only to make you a better, more tolerant person. It's dire.

A combination rarely said without smirking.
e : I worked in retail for 6 years and almost became a Sainsburys Store Manager before realising I could make more money selling jam on the Underground which would have had better perks too (like eating jam).
I worked witha guy doing 2nd / 3rd line support and he left for his "dream job" in the apple store as a genius...
How i lol'ed!!
not to mention running my own Phone repair business.
You should probably pursue this then... does it have to be apple? There are other development roles out there working on apple products which aren't within apple itself - if you want to work in development then surely that is a better place to start than working in a shop.
Its like some aspiring actor wanting to work in the west end and deciding to get a job selling tickets in the box office - I don't think that sort of choice would make anyone happy long term.
Google especially, everything about working there looks amazing![]()
Looks good from the outside but working for Google isn't a job it's a lifestyle choice from what I can gather which is why they have all the cool stuff, to keep you in the office working.
I WANT TO WORK SOMEWHERE THAT HAS A SLIDE IN RECEPTION!
they talk a great deal about the fact it is harder to get a job in Apple than it is to get into Stanford...

This is either the funniest or most tragic thing I've read today![]()

My place is kinda like that. Part of agency life is having the coolest working environments and newest/biggest/shiniest macs to play with - but with that comes the expectations of ending your working day at 7-8+ o'clock and not 5. Despite being big on my career, I'd rather it didn't dominate my life.

Also, did I miss something? Were you someone else before?
