The Walking Dead, based purely on story. It delivered a great narrative, one area where Skyrim perhaps fell a little flat.

Hard to compare as they're so different, but as good as Skyrim is, TWD felt like it was doing something a little different (even with those awful controls), had some great characters, some excellent voice work and had a story revolving around a child that didn't just fall on tropes and false emotion.

True, infact I would go as far as saying the story in Skyrim is totally irrelevant, while Walking Dead is all about the story and how it's delivered.

Dunno if it's partly down to having a daughter (for the most part it's clearly down to how well Telltale build the story and characters), but I gave a crap about Clementine more than I have any other character in any other game up to that point. Actually I struggle to think of any fictional character in any medium that I cared more about, that's quite an achievement.

The discussion once this is over will be more interesting than the vote itself I think. Who saw their game win? Who lost a beloved title early? Which titles do people think had no place anywhere near the end? That kind of thing.

I've not done too bad so far. Obviously I've disagreed with certain votes, but the only game that would have made my own discussion on best title this gen is Dead Space, the rest made it here (Batman AA, Skyrim, RDR, The Last of Us).

As great as Batman is I hope it doesn't win the entire thing, for me it's between Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, two of the biggest and best games I've ever played! Batman had really tight mechanics and was a lot of fun, but it doesn't have the scope of some of the other games in the competition.
