*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Super Luigi U just came through the post gonna give that a bash later.
I've been trying to find a white Wii U pro controller but have had no luck, any suggestions?

£24 too using flubit!

So far it's Pikmin, which is all good :) Looks nice at 1080p - the plants and fruit look massive - controls well with the pad (haven't tried wiimote yet), and is just as charming as ever. I still get a little choked up when they die. I'm just a few hours in and have seen a few new pikmin, which are cool, and am enjoying wondering about and collecting stuff. The WiiU gets a fair bit of bad press, but the simple fact is I wouldn't be playing this game without it. Wonderful 101, Mario Kart, Bayonetta 2, Mario ... :D

Good deal. Game looks great - looking forward to giving it a bash tomorrow.

I wouldn't be without my Wii U. It's getting more use than the 360 or PS3 currently.
Nintendoland, Tank Tank Tank (yes really), SMBU, Lego City and soon Pikmin 3 make it well worth the investment.

it's a port by Treyarch

....and? Is that supposed to be a negative thing? Treyarch have previous experience with the WiiU tech and did a fantastic job with Black Ops 2 imo. The Gamepad play etc was a terrific feature so I have no problem with them porting the game for Infanty Ward...in fact it makes a lot of sense.

Same release date as the 360, PS3 and PC, November 5th. Hopefully will generate a lot of interest in the console also...although I await poor sales of Black Ops 2 etc at the beginning of the Wii U lifecycle...Activision showing continued support with their major franchise is nothing but good news!

Big time slow burner the Wii U but certainly the games are coming now and I expect sales will pick up - despite the shelves being full of PS4 and XB1's at Xmas I do think the Wii U is going to sell amongst those.

I've just binned my 360 for a Wii U. I did have a PS4 pre-order until earlier this week, now cancelled. Whatever console we have is a family machine and the PS4 just isn't/wasn't going to be suitable for my two kids - sure I'd enjoy it, but my girls wouldn't have connected with a PS4 in the way they will connect with the Wii U.

didn't say it was just pointing it out

Received Pikmin 3 today and its well worth the wait, plays best with the gamepad in my opinion but wiimote is just as good as the 1st 2 games.
Beautiful visuals!!!
Also picked up Luigi U today ......ROCK HARD or what ?

Picked up Pikimin 3 yesterday & it really is a very solid game, great visuals, controls really well with the gamepad, lots to do.
Feels like the Wii U beginning to show it's potential.

Finally put some decent time into Pikmin 3 and have to say It's great.

The gamepad works well but I'm using the Wiimote and nunchuk - far easier control system for me and shows that there is still a place for motion control.
The gameplay is pure Pikmin and the HD graphics really add to the experience.
I like the ranked missions element, which ranks you worldwide using Spotpass and this should add to the longevity.
Had a quick bash of multiplayer and also seems good.

Only thing I'm slightly disappointed in (unless I'm missing something) is the multiplayer is split screen only. I was expecting TV versus gamepad.
Minor niggle though and all in all a great purchase.

For those sitting on the Wii U fence, this should be the game that tempts you off the fence and into that purchase...

Pikmin and 101 have tipped me towards the Wii U, although I've had to make do with Nintendoland and Sega racing transformed till Pikmin arrives in the post - should be tomorrow.

Wonderful 101 next after Pikmin then onto anything Mario.

Lovin it, it's entertaining the whole family. Off screen play is proper handy.

Glad to hear it Merlin...it really is an entertaining console, one I've genuinely played more and had more fun playing than any other in recent years (when you have a gaming PC there's no real reason to play some of the others).

My Pikmin didn't come for the weekend, my fault for getting a cheap pre-order but it'll be here today so looking foward to it and then Wonderful 101 looks...well...wonderful. Watched a 15 minute demo/intro to the game and it looks so unique and fun yet similar to Pikmin :P

There are some pretty solid releases on the lead up to the end of the year now...

Mario, Wind Waker, Donkey Kong, Sonic, Splinter Cell, Assassins Creed 4, Watchdogs, Call of Duty:Ghosts, Rayman Legends to name a few...not a bad time to own the console with all this incoming.

Pikmin is a serious time sink. Got it Friday, but just arrived home from holiday so could only manage Day 2. Sat down yesterday afternoon and find myself on Day 11. The kids are totally absorbed watching me (my 2 year old now thinks he's a rock Pikmin), and my daughter frequently chimes in with some 'strategy'.

I'm not surprised I love it, as the first 2 were utter class. This is just fantastic though.

Stop it Syph...this better be waiting on me coming home now :D

Have to say...the extra months of polish have obviously paid off as all I'm hearing is glowing testaments towards how good the game is.
