********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

If this was true.....wouldn't we know more about it? The game is out in less than two months. It's likely to be one of the biggest selling games of the year. Sony have secured exclusive content (presumably with money) and aren't shouting it from the rooftops? Seems unlikely.

I heard it said at the conference too but yeah it's a bit strange that nothing has been said about it since. But then nothing much has been revealed about the game yet anyway. We'll just have to wait and see.

It's going to be more dynamic than all of the previous GTA's put together, even watching the teasers and trailers shows you that. R* have said there is a massive focus on money this time around.

I get the impression money is a lot more important but how dynamic the game will be I haven't seen much on. I presume it will be as the story is completed that prices change and not just a case of randomly blowing stuff up/shooting people/police chases in the neighbourhood.

The only thing I have seen is a rumour that PS3 might get some timed-exclusive content, so the 360 will get it as well, eventually.

If there is exclusive for PS3, I hope it is timed exclusive. It is annoying to have to wait for it but better to wait than never get it on 360.

I'd imagine a LOT of GTA V news is going to drop over August, lets just wait it out :)

NO!!! I NEED TO KNOW NOW DAMMIT!!! :D

The Lost and Damned came out about 10 months after GTA4 so there'll still be a plenty big enough market for the current gen at that stage after release of GTA5, but I personally don't think they'd release anything quite as big as they did for GTA4.

DLC? I'm fairly confidant we will see something good, to keep the game fresh after a year.

GTA5 is saving me money, as I'll have no need to get the new gen untill I'm fully done with it, which will take at least 2 years got over 800 hours on GTA4 multiplayer alone.

I think it's more likely to be several smaller things than one or two huge things as with the case of GTA4 though. The longer they leave it to release anything, the quicker their userbase shrinks.

It wont shrink for a long time multiplayer will keep it alive and from what I can tell it allows you to do actual missions online so will keep it fresher than just free-roaming all the time although that doesn't really get boring at least not for me, and yes I agree we will see smaller things especially micro transaction sort of items, such as a set of clothes, bundles of money and cars and so forth.

How can you even guess?

Are we not allowed to guess? lol :D

New bit of artwork has been spotted on Gamestop/EB Games website, to promote a free lithograph when you pre-order the strategy guide. Nothing amazing, but anything new is nice at this stage. 53 days to go!!!

What does everyone make of the Michael and Trevor being brothers theory? Watching the latest GTA 5 o'clock has kind of convinced me that they are.

Just pre-ordered this via Rainforest for my 360. Only getting the standard jobby for now; special editions and all that jazz can wait when GTA 5 inevitably gets released on PC.

Got sent a survey from the high street game place today and interestedly they choose me because I preordered GTA5 from them. Anyhow, some of the questions asked if I would be interested in buying the next gen version of GTA5 and would I trade an existing gen copy for the next gen, how much would be decent value for trade in or discount etc.

Do these guys know something we don't? Why send out survey asking about possible next gen version of GTA5 at this stage? Before all this, I always thought Rockstar would bring it out on the next gen to capitalise on potential sales with hardcore fans but who I am to say.

I'll bet next gen versions get released alongside a PC version. Apparently, in programming/development terms, the new consoles are a lot closer to PCs, hence my thoughts.

, I always thought Rockstar would bring it out on the next gen to capitalize on potential sales.

It's simple, PC will happen but not straight away. Next gen is possible, but in the same boat if it does happen it wont be for a while and I don't know any GTA fans that could wait 6-8-12+ months when there is a perfectly working version on current gen.
