If your getting good radio signals then there's no real need to update it. It could get worse or better with the update.

Is it better to flash modems that match UK updates instead of the other releases?

Latest UK is MGA right?

XXUBMGA appears to be the latest one [i think].

XXUBMEA is the one my phone is currently on.

I'm on MEA too, working well:

try flashing it twice in a row by booting straight back in to recovery (or download mode if you are using odin) after the first flash and reflashing it. It's a security thing apparently lol

Sorted, cheers. I've had to re-flash the Wifi fix twice sometimes, never thought about trying it with the modem. :)

@kona786

I ended up trying pacman but not sure what happened, felt really sluggish on my phone, tried another wipe and install and same thing. I'm going to give SlimRom a try later on today as I had that on my N2 and it seems like a nice mix of AOSP and higher DPI. Have to admit though, the higher DPI looks absolutely great on this phone!

Will post some screenshots later

Tried the latest nightly mate. I've just flashed SlimRom now so we'll see how it goes. Visual wise, this is one of the best looking roms I've used in my opinion. It's basically based on CM with some adjustments and higher DPI.

Really loving this rom, DPI change is awesome!

Will get more screenshots up of the rom later if anyone is interested. One of the great features is there is a "Dark mode" which effectively skins a lot of apps such as play store to do the following:

Yeah sorry I got a bit confused when I recommend the latest rom last time. I'm not on the nightly.

Glad your happy with your new rom though. AOSP
is refreshing. Especially with all the customisation.

Which TW based ROM has the smallest footprint. My internal memory is under continuous bombardment; thumbnails were 1GB so moved all of my pictures off the device and that folder is still 300MB (with <10 pictures from my camera)!!. Going to try a prerooted stock ROM @ 1.1GB.

The thumbnails will still be stored on your internal memory once they are generated though never mind where you keep the actual files as far as I'm aware.

Even if all those pictures are completely off the device. I am not sure how I even have 300MB of thumbnails when I don't even have 300MB worth of pictures (a handful from the camera, album art and some WhatApp pictures).

What is the best version of the Galaxy S4 to get?

Looking on hotukdeals someone has said:

"9505 is lte quad
9500 is non lte octa"

But I'm not sure what that really means and what I should buy. Looking at a grade A version for £360 SIM free.
