As soon as I bought a Vamo and Vivi Novas, my juice consumption went up! I now average approx 8-10ml a week. But then I am vaping the best Apple Tart flavour from Simon (juice maker extraordinaire)... :p

Yeah, rebuildable tanks drink the juice. Before 2ml would last me a over day, now I burn through that in a few minutes. I've spent a bit of money on juices already, been making a list:

30ml Monkey Jizz (ordered)
30ml MDV666
20ml Lime Sparkle
20ml Verde Diablo
30ml Snake Oil
50ml Grants Vanilla Custard
30ml Scopes Apple Tart
30ml Hangsen Apple
30ml Hangsen Melon (not nice)
7 X 10mg (Mixture of Hangsen flavours)

Fixed & added a couple more links.

My first 30ml Apple (from Vapeland, funnily enough) lasted me just about 4 weeks - but that was refilling my starter cig-a-like Cartomisers. Your couple of links don't work :p Thank you so much for your help. That really is some incredible savings and I think she's completely on side with trying it :D

So I gave up smoking again a few weeks ago and got myself a Volish Crystal 3. I've managed to break the clearomizer that came with it and am down to my last cartomizer so could use some advice on where to buy a replacement clearomizer from the UK that will fit as this thingss getting harsh.

I'm fairly new to vaping and there's so many brands of varying qualities and tanks/clearomizers/cartomizers that it can be a little confusing. I guess I am just looking for a quality product thats simple to use even if i have to replace the enitre thing.

the protank is an expensive atomizer to use, its costing me a fortune in replacement heads as they go black and burnt in a very short space of time. Its a shame as it tastes great for a few days then the wicks go black and taste burnt, its impossible to clean as well from my efforts so far.

You could bite the bullet and by a decent Genny and never look back:D:D

I just rewick the heads myself and they taste better than stock.

+1 And easier than a Genesis, provided you keep the coils small and twist the legs to avoid burning the rubber grommet. I've done my KPT, 2 Vivi Novas and all are vaping better for it.

I think maintenance is easier on a self re-coiled clearomiser - more forgiving when dry burning and brushing crud off the coils (I find a TeePee interdental brush is perfick for this) :p

Rewicking and rewiring costs pennies, well worth learning! TBH I've given up cleaning my Vision V3 heads - the wick/coil just go in the bin after a a week :)

This is from the ProTank-II insert, but the voltages-ohms chart still applies.

Okay, so I've finally managed to get around to vaping, having received all my goodies and seen off a horrendous chest infection. Thanks for all the advice and assistance from those lovely people who offered it.

My thoughts thus far are that I like vaping as much as I expected to and it's very similar in experience to smoking shisha, which was the general idea. However, I'm having a few 'issues' with the set-up and the mechanics of vaping, so I'm wondering if anyone can help me out!

The main problem I have, if that's the right word, is that taste-wise things aren't really as expected. I'm finding that Grant's Vanilla Custard isn't very vanillary or custardy and instead tastes more like banana than anything, Scope's Apple Tart tastes like an apple pie smells and his Banana is downright disgusting and extremely chemically.

I've let all the e-liquids sit and steep for at least a week now and have only started vaping them over the past 48-hours, but I've got to be honest here and say that the flavours I was expecting simply aren't there. They smell amazing but, with the exception of Scope's Apple Tart, don't taste particularly nice - and even the Apple Tart doesn't really taste of apple.

I also find that with my Vamo + Protank set-up I seem to be getting quite a lot of 'gurgling' when vaping and it almost feels like I'm sucking too hard on occasion and that I'm drawing liquid up the stem. Could this be that not enough liquid is being vaporised?

And on that note, should I have my Vamo set to variable voltage or wattage?

Currently I'm set to variable volts and using this as a guide to the power I ought to be allowing the Vamo to kick out. My Protank heads seem to be 2.2Ω so I'm vaping anywhere between 3.2 and 4.2 volts... is that correct? Or is there a 'sweet spot' for Grant and Scope's liquids?

How long have you been vaping for?

It took a good 4weeks after i stopped smoking for my tastebuds to start working again.
Coffee tastes totally different now, compared to when i was smoking.

As for your voltage question, see the pic a few posts up.

Oooh, about three days?

I don't actually smoke - I'm only vaping as smoking shisha in the house was getting to be a fire hazard.

I'd also consider myself to have a pretty good palate, at least compared to the next man, which is possibly why I'm a little disappointed with the flavour of these 0% nic e-liquids.

They smell amazing but, thus far at least, the taste has seriously been lacking.

I'd forgotten about the Protank II.

Ordered one earlier from Vapor-Z - http://www.vapor-z.co.uk/products/kanger-protank-2

Just got an email saying its been shipped. Not bad considering it said shipping the 5th! :)

Scorch: My KPT heads last a good while, I rinse the **** out of them under the hot tap and then let them air dry.

I've got he wire and wick to re coil my heads, gonna have to try it this weekend.

The Protank is a clearomiser style, which are well known for dimishing flavour. Grab yourself a 5 pack of Boge 510 cartomisers and give those a whirl. The difference in flavour is night and day BUT they're more of a pain to refill. It's all give and take in the world of trying to find the perfect vaping gear!

On a 2.2 Protank head, I'd probably be hitting it around 3.6/3.7 volts.

In terms of juice in your gob, I find that difficult to fathom with the Protank's very airy draw... so I reckon you're sucking MUCH too hard. The technique change when going from cigs (especially rollies) to vaping is probably the most crucial for enjoyment. Suck long and slow, let the vapour fill your mouth (I actually perform two draws, puffing or nose-exhaling in the middle), then fill your lungs and release.

Sucking too hard on any vaping device is likely to get you a mouth full o' juice. Relax and slow it down a little. You'll get to that sweet spot eventually.

I haven't vaped those specific liquids, but given the rave reviews, I think there may be some experimentation to be done.

I would definitely consider playing with voltage, as gurgling can be a sign that you're drawing more liquid onto the wick than the coil can vapourise. 4.2V generally is the high end though, so if you start getting a burnt taste, back it off quickly to avoid burning the juice. Some flavours like a cooler coil too (usually fruity flavours) so excessive volts can reduce the flavour. Experiment a bit and see how you go. Also, check that no liquid has dripped down the centre post to the contacts of the Vamo, as this can really reduce the current going to the coil.

As above, try different ways of drawing on your ecig. Unlike a burning smoke, drawing harder doesn't = more vapour, as the coil can only vapourise so much at a certain voltage. Long slow draws (experiment here) are the rule of thumb.

I know some chaps have spoken about removing a part of the wick in the protank to improve flavour (I could be getting mixed up with the Evod here though) so perhaps someone who uses the protank could offer some advice here.
