The Protank is a clearomiser style, which are well known for dimishing flavour. Grab yourself a 5 pack of Boge 510 cartomisers and give those a whirl. The difference in flavour is night and day BUT they're more of a pain to refill. It's all give and take in the world of trying to find the perfect vaping gear!
Is it really that pronounced?
I'd gone for the KPT as I was under the impression it gave good flavour, and while I'm not reluctant to try anything else, I've seen so many good reports on the KPT that it makes me think I'm doing something wrong.
But for the sake of a few quid, perhaps I ought to try the Boge...
In terms of juice in your gob, I find that difficult to fathom with the Protank's very airy draw... so I reckon you're sucking MUCH too hard.
Story of my life!
Sucking too hard on any vaping device is likely to get you a mouth full o' juice. Relax and slow it down a little. You'll get to that sweet spot eventually.
Advice duly noted and put into practice - being a little less enthusiastic and not trying to suck a golf ball through a hosepipe has certainly reaped benefits.
I would definitely consider playing with voltage, as gurgling can be a sign that you're drawing more liquid onto the wick than the coil can vapourise.
I think I'm sucking
far too hard on the damn thing and not giving the coil time to vaporise properly - having relaxed my technique over the last few nights I'm finding the process improved, although the flavour still isn't really coming through as I'd like.
Also, check that no liquid has dripped down the centre post to the contacts of the Vamo, as this can really reduce the current going to the coil.
Bingo - I'd been drawing up juice due to my over-enthusiastic sucking.
I know some chaps have spoken about removing a part of the wick in the protank to improve flavour (I could be getting mixed up with the Evod here though) so perhaps someone who uses the protank could offer some advice here.
Already done - noticed a slight difference over the default arrangement, but hardly night and day.
I also would recommend switching to Variable Wattage on your Vamo - I found it gives more precise control over finding the "sweet spot".
Also, did you put the Vamo into Mode N02? This also improves things...
So what's the theory behind using variable wattage over voltage then?
And yes, already on N02 mode.
Also try and wait a sec or 2 after pressing the button before u begin to draw on it, and a long slow draw is best.
Great advice, that - has helped my vaping 'technique' immeasurably.
