Recently purchased a BryShifter (quick shift) kit for my Focus ST. Finally got around to fitting it today and thought I'd share the photos and experience :)

The item itself is beautifully made, anodised in blue and tumbled so has nice smooth edges. The silver screws and ball-joint nicely contrast with the blue.

Fitting was fairly straightforward, bolt off and bolt on. The actually difference it makes to the gear change is fantastic - much more precise/solid and shorter for quicker changes. The difference is so much that I had to relearn where 5th/6th were located but after a minute of checking its all correct it becomes natural. Highly recommend one especially as you'll feel the benefit every time you change gear :)

Thanks for listening and hope it helps someone decide on getting one fitted :)

Helped a friend fit one of these to his RS last month. Feels amazing compared to stock (which didn't feel too bad to begin with)

Got one fitted to mine, beautifully made little thing, and feels so much nicer! Because I'm tall and have the seat quite far back, it always felt like I was stretching to reach 1st, 3rd and 5th. The bryshifter has a nice little adjustment to not only shorten the shift, but also move it closer to you. Perfect!

Any threads detailing a bit more about it please? Quite interested to understand it.

(I don't have a membership for the site in case you hadn't sussed that.)

Cheers!

Mountune one for the fiesta is totally different, its a part thats changed at the gearbox end (the linkage itself) rather near the gearstick.

Will, similar to the EP3 solid shifter bushings. I have a bit of play on my gear lever I would like to tighten up, I think a short shifter may be worth a try. The one in the OP looks superb, my only gripe with the RS and ST I drove was that the gear change didn't feel as precise as I would have hoped for.

Totally agree. It makes a significant difference to the standard shift feel, much more precise - I'd say how it should have been out the factory :) Although I say the same regarding the suspension with the Bilstein B12-ProKit which is firm but not crashy at all :)

These are no ways a good as the bry shifter as they can twist and move as there's no really anchorage when fitted. The bry shifter is much more solid, smoother and feels better (I have had both)

Exactly this. The AS version is feeble in comparison, the metal is thinner and they've skimped on bolts for the attachment to the gearstick so will easily move/flex.

I recognise these photos from Facebook...hi John! :D

Hi Michael - there is no escape :p All the cool kids are on OcUK ;)

I recently ordered one. Any tips on fitting? I'm worried about damaging the surrounding trim.

Pull on the gaiter and that will pop out from the trim, then yank harder on the surrounding trim and that will come out eventually, not much to damage on that part of trim, just a bit stiff sometimes.

Wish I'd bought one originally in January when he was first advertising. Think they were only £70 back then. Ended up buying an intercooler instead.
