My Evo 9

Decent as in good condition and not too many miles :p I'm thinking when my insurance is almost up to part ex my focus St towards one.

I messaged green light who I'm currently with and they don't cover decats. Would using something like a 200 cell sports cat give good results?

Ideally you want a 100cell. They often pop up on FSTOC classifieds for decent prices. There was a Mongoose one for around £160 a few months back.

I'm with Greenlight and they had no issue with my 'race header' that did away with the CAT.

I'd double check that they're aware there's no cat any more. They definitely don't like decats as they're not road legal.

Well, it got 380/380 so a little less than I was expecting, but oh well. Ant said it's more than likely because I have the standard HKS 2.75" downpipe and a 2.75" decat, if I want 400/400 I'll have to change them. Not overly fussed right now, the car is very quick. I can't actually tell any difference from behind the wheel thought apart from the revs seem to rise a lot faster than before.

Couple of quick vids.

Tunnel on the way home.

Thought it needs to go back, the intake makes a funny noise in top gear at around 3-4k rpm, not really sure what it is.

So yeah, went back to Indigo GT today to address my concerns about the map. We went out on the road and we spoke about how it was set up and what the car was doing etc. I'm much happier now. :) Also had a replacement backbox fitted. When I went last time Anthony said it didn't look much like the standard one, turns out it's some random Frankenstein cut and shut. The silencer itself is the standard HKD Super Dragger item, but the pipe has been butchered as has the tail pipe. I also had a little carbon piece fitted which I think normally comes on the FQ 360 only. Very happy with the new back box, the last one didn't sit right in the bumper, the new one is much better.

Old one on the car.

Ant also tweaked the map and added some subtle pops and bangs. Can't stop laughing making the car do it. As soon as I get the right memory card for the Go Pro and the car mount I'll try and get some videos up. Best thing is I actually have to make the car do it, or the only other time is when I back off the throttle high up the rev range.

There wasn't ever a problem, certainly nothing in the datalogs etc. Apparently all 9's do it and the noise is pronounced with the 3 port solenoid.

Nice car mate, still bugs me how they went from the 9 to the 10, such an ugly car that is same with the Subaru should have let them be...ugly cars :(

Hi Guys,

Just joined the EVO 9 crew, well i've put a deposit down on one, hoping to sort everything out next week.

The car is a 2006 GSR has only done 14'000 kilometers, so approx 9'000 miles!!! The interior as expected is immaculate and it drives amazing well, i've owned a few Subaru STI's in the past and just from my test drive this thing is in a different league :D

The one thing that is confusing at the moment for me though and i don't know if you can help me out, the car check services on the net say from the reg it's a EVO 9 GT, but from my understanding, when researching, is the GT had 5 speed manual and non leather etc. This one, comparing to specs available seems to be GSR, as they were 6 speed (as mine is) and had half leather etc. Is it just misreporting due to it being an import??

Can't wait to get my mits on it ;)

From my experience most imports come back as a completely random model from the range so i wound't pay any notice of it :)

Cool, and thank you, i thought that but that little bug in the back of the mind was kicking in saying, are you being conned etc. Its got all paperwork etc but you still think whats going on when checking things.

Will post pics etc once i have it :) - when i can get out of it of course!!!
