*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

You say that but only 10 consoles = £3500. A truck load would be worth a pretty penny to somebody.

Not that I understand the economics of crime but I presume you would not be able to sell them for £350 stolen. Then the inherent risk of getting caught, the planning........surely if they were so profitable you would hear about PC World/Amazon warehouse/Argos distrubtion centre getting knocked off all the time.

If there is a supply shortage, then the reseller market prices will rise past the RRP. The same that happened to the PS2 if I remember correctly.

Distribution centres would be extremely hard to knock off. It would be simpler and quicker to stop a lorry and offload its contents.

Surely of all the things to hijack in the world games consoles are probably pretty low on the agenda?

Trucks get hijacked (or at least, the cargo stolen) quite often though. They're the weak link between the factories, warehouses and retailers. Electronics are fairly easy to move and usually worth a lot of money.

The outer cartons that games consoles come packaged in don't usually even indicate what they are so that it's not obvious to thieves etc. A PS3 carton won't have a PS3 or PlayStation logo anywhere, for example, just a product code.

also the fact that im pretty sure they would record serial numbers of shipments.

they then could ban those serial numbers making them useless online, etc.

similar to say stolen phones and imei numbers.

you would think a billion dollar company would have this basic security in place for such things in order to prevent this sort of stuff.

rumours going about that they may be a ps4/vita bundle at the price of 500 dollars, bad for the bonebox if true

probably be a limited amount or USA or JAPAN only.

also i don't see how anyone who was going to buy an eggbox would now consider a ps4 because of this, as a vita isn't really an essential product.

Such nonsense talk, I come here every night for updates and get hijacking lorry fantasies!

Pretty annoying really.

Fair few of us have one eye cast over the games sites and neogaf, So when something does happen all the crazy talk should stop hopefully.
