Let me know how you find the slipper clutch. I was looking at them as I mainly fly over grass so if I miss my landing pad (the box that the heli comes in!), I can easily get the tail caught up.

If there is nothing in the grub screw you can get hold of I think you might have to cut it off. Careful in there, I wonder whether sacrificing the main shaft might be easier.
 
I had a belt v2 but kept crashing it and was put off eventually after all the repairs all the time. CP probably wasn't the best for a first time buy! What is a good FP heli these days? Wasn't impressed with Esky quality, but see Heliguy now do a heli they claim is better than the Honey Bee?
 
With my 120v02s grounded due to a missing part on new clutch thought I'd take the little hubsan x4 v2 (my v1 got toasted as i connected backwards and blew up the mainboard) to flying field.... I didn't have much hope, crazy strong wind but how wrong I was.

Once out in the open this thing is a beast.... Easily getting up to crazy 30mph plus speeds downwind, flips, piros, crazy fast circuits, and climbing to what felt like edge of space.

Flew for around 50mins and 7 full lipos.......

I had more fun with it than any expensive heli, I think the reason is you know it's only 40 quid, and it can survive crashes. In fact had at least 4 bad crashes at high speed, but as long as you throttle off no damage at all. It also teaches you great nose in awareness and sharpens your reflexes

Anyone who can already fly a heli get one of these ASAP.... I guarantee you will have tons of fun.

Clutch seems to work well but the tensioner flew off so had to order some spares. Ended up cutting main gear off rotor shaft as pin was stuck, then replacing whole dam shaft and collar. Will keep you posted once in air again
 
After playing with a syma for a week or so, I took the plunge and bought a bigger heli. Bought a Hb v2 and have only managed to get it about six inches off the ground under control. Quite tricky to keep just above the ground. Have got the training kit fitted as well but still bust a couple of little parts.
 
honey bee v2 are hard to fly and put people off the hobby.
they may be cheap but imo they are not a good beginner heli

BTW you should get it off the ground far enough so the wash from the blades isn't effecting the heli or it will be hard to keep it steady

Training gear is horrible on a big heli let alone a little one. I would try it without. Spool up, get to mid stick and punch it in the air. Make sure you have plenty of room and hit throttle hold if you get in trouble. Most small models crash reasonably well of you hit TH in time. Crashed my 130x into a tree backwards he other week. Climbed the tree, put it on the ground Nd flew again!
 
Anyone had any experience with the AR Drone 2.0?
Looking to get one for the filming capability for our rickshaw run. Thought it would be cool to get some aerial shots as we slowly trundle through the desert

what experience do you have of CP models? I had an MCPX and struggled like hell with it, was too twitchy for me. On the other hand, my 130x i find a pleasure to fly.

I wouldn't consider flying either indoors unless your pretty good. I'm ok doing circuits etc outside with plenty of room, wouldn't use them indoors though.

you'd also need a programmable radio, do you have one?

Have got a lot better with the HB and can now hover a little. The main problem is the response time from input on the controller to heli response. It appears to be pretty slow, resulting in over compensation.
I have also got a Firefly and I could get that into the air with no problems after my first 2 goes. Trimmed it out and it's pretty good to have a blast on. I prefer it to the HB at the moment, although when I eventually get the hang of the HB I think that would be slightly more rewarding.
