I was thinking about the situation in Russia the other day. I ended up concluding that the EU needs to become the USE, then the USE and USA need to work very closely together to change the world for the better.

Two men were arrested in Volgograd in May for the murder of a homosexual. Having laws that suppress the promotion of homosexuality is not the same as saying you can brutalise and murder someone because they are gay. There is a huge difference.

The guy's was found with his head smashed in, his genitals mutilated and was raped using beer bottles... One would hope that there was police intervention!

If this had happened in the UK it would have been one of the most shocking crimes of recent times and a wake up call that something is seriously wrong in our society. Yet Russia's response is simply more discriminatory legislation and more groups committing violence towards the LGBT community. That, to me, is absolutely unbelievable.

But the point is Putin is almost saying it's acceptable to single gays out and punish them for their life style.

If you have a cogent argument to support that point, I am all ears (or eyes at least). However I will stress again, this is a crime in Russia and they will be punished if they care caught.

In the UK we do not promote paedophilia, but we still lock people up who kill them and you're certainly not encouraged to do so.

Well there's the problem, I really can't see the Russian authorities doing much about these videos and tortures, homophobic crimes are probably near the bottom of their list of priorities.

Anyone see the video of the guy protesting during a Russian army march, they surrounded the guy and bundled him into one of their trucks, god knows what happened to him.

All we can hope for is that pressure will be placed upon Russia to sort this horrible stuff out.

How can you disagree with "the practice". I don't think anyone is optionally gay.
