********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

didnt even know it was today

Only reason I remember is because I instantly thought "Ah ****, I am going to miss this because of the Eminem concert" then I realised Eminem is the 17th, so for some reason it just sat in my head.......yeah :P

EDIT:: Nevermind, seems it isn't anymore. Strange, I could have sworn August 10th was said to be the reveal date.

I'm not really that interested in the multiplayer, but it'll be good to see something new :)

Really? multiplayer is what kept GTA IV alive way longer than it would have being a single player game, I loved it until the spoiled little bitch kids started using scripts that their gay friends found and ruined it all :D (on consoles)

PC was even more fun, inviting your friends into a game heavily modded to hell with random ramps and crap that added to the value and entertainment.

Well, just finished GTA IV on PC, lots of fun all over again, aside from that damn final mission! I'm all set for a month of no GTA now to get ready for V! :D I'll miss Niko & the Russian music channel :(

I read somewhere that if you leave your car in the middle of the road or anywhere else it will get picked up by a truck and impounded until you pay a fine to get it back , has this been confirmed?

I guess if this is true it would only happen in certain situations.

Rockstar confirmed something that effect in an interview, yes. Basically if you spend a lot of money customising a car, you can get it back rather than losing it forever. Same goes for weapons, you won't have to re-buy weapons/attachments that you've already bought. I presume that means they're stored at your safehouse or something and you can go and collect them after you're arrested, unless you just retain your weapons afterwards anyway.

I'd love it if it was like Vice City and the weapons you have are at your house, maybe in a gun room with-in your house is where you get them from when you run out of ammo/busted.

:D

yeah , sounds like a good idea , just hope cars you park somewhere for a while why you go do a job or some activity dont get impounded, maybe its a pay and display everywhere or else:D

Read this on GAF:

NVIDIA has been spilling some beans lately. First they confirmed the existence of a Microsoft MSFT +0.52% Surface RT follow up, for which they’re handling processing duties (presumably a Tegra 4). Now, the company has given PC gamers a heaping helping of hope by flat-out stating that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V will release for PC this fall.

The reveal occurred during an earnings call (transcribed by Seeking Alpha and spotted by Crave Online) hosted by Chris Evenden, NVIDIA’s Senior Director of Investor Relations. Evenden was outlining the changes in the PC market — changes which PC gamers are affecting — before he explained that the demographic is “preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV.”

You can rest assured that isn’t a random trio of titles. NVIDIA is working directly with Ubisoft developers to optimize Assassin’s Creed IV, and past Call of Duty partnerships exist between Activision and NVIDIA. Maybe we’ll see the game bundled with an existing GeForce GTX graphics card?

Perhaps NVIDIA even has a hard release date for GTA V under their hat, but the “fall” window is still reassuring. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions land on September 17, meaning PC users may not have to wait long for what they know will be the superior version of the game.

In the past, Rockstar Games has been slow to adopt PC ports of their popular titles, and in some cases — like Red Dead Redemption — those ports never materialized. With such a high profile release, anticipated by a burgeoning PC gaming audience, Grand Theft Auto fans took to Change.org recently to petition Rockstar to release a PC version of GTA V. The petition currently has 314,000 signatures. If NVIDIA’s words ring true, that petition won’t be necessary.

This information comes just days before Rockstar is poised to unveil the details of GTA V’s multiplayer component. I’ve reached out to both Rockstar and NVIDIA for any further clarification.

Not sure if it's correct but it would be great if true and do we then assume next gen versions more quickly than we imagined?

Sounds like it'll be like RDR (The gun part, not the car part!) Where you'll always have those guns selectable once you acquired them (Unless a specific missions makes you lose all your guns, then later on in the missions you re-acquire them as with the stealth train attack in Red Dead), that was a problem with GTA IV really, as soon as Niko has finished off the magazine in his assault rifle, he tosses the gun away, meaning when you next want it, you have to re-buy it.
