living and moving to spain

Posting on a computer forum about Spain.....

Two options:

1) Returnee

2) Spanish troll due to Gibraltar thread

its probably a she..

and she's probably Lithuanian or Polish..

not saying that the news are full of spain and no jobs in one sentence.. but news are full of spain and NO JERBS in one sentence.. so no its not a good place to move too.

try egypt, i've heard its popping in there..

Sorry, i just googled for any random forum, didn't know this was a computer forum. Maybe that's why most of you are so rude. Anyway, Voltar, at the moment i am a manager in one retail shop, my husband is a mechanic. I can speak Spanish, he would need to learn. If by any chance you know another forum that i could use, it would be really appreciated.

Try searching for an Ex Pat community forum.

We have a villa out here. In a area which isn't as affected as many by the economic crisis. Bit like London. Erm we don't work out here, but know many professional ex pats that do.. its terrible there money to be made but.. The competition is fierce. Of course the heat here in the south is lovely. Property wise bargains to be had but round here for anything with a pool and 4 plus beds ect. 800k plus for something decent.

Try somewhere like here:

I have quite a few Spanish friends who will never return to live in Spain, and a few other that have lived in Spain and since returned.

Spain has some great characteristics but at the moment if you are not bringing in external money then you are screwed.

Living costs are cheap relative to the UK/central europe.
There are no jobs, and Spanish salaries are very low (hence low living costs).

Spain works if you get paid at a rate set somewhere else, e.g. if a UK employer would pay you London Salary and let you live and work form Spain then it could be a good opportunity. that is how my friends that moved there for a time worked it out. They were getting paid like 100K Euros and lived like kings in giant apartments. One of them lost their contract after 2 years and looked in spain and didn't find anything within 12 months and salaries would be less than 1/5th by then it is not fun.

If you go there looking for a job then you are doing something wrong!

been looking into this myself ,thinking mmm if i rent my house out here (morgage free)i can rent out an el cheapo place with only a very small income. looked at fincas with land ,ok they seen cheap to buy but it seems hard to find out if they have residential status ,how secure would i be.
buying property needs a very good spanish lawyer not linked to the estate agent as you can take on the last owners debts or have it demolished if it was built without planning as some did.
also arnt they wanting to know about brits assets in uk ie another cyprus type money grab on the way ?

You've got to give credit to someone prepared to move to another country they know nothing abut whilst apparently pregnant and basing their pre-move information on a random internet search of forums. Not in a forum but of forums.

That takes some balls.
