Ok I've been given instruction to make a donation to a charity supported by an OcUK member.

The only stipulations are:

1) Preferred charity - Any Cancer or Diabetes trust.

2) Must have a just giving page (or similar).

It's not much, but it all helps and maybe will help encourage a few others :)

....Stipulations changed... just POST IT!.... :)

While still serving the in RN, our chosen mess charity was the Macmillan Nurse as one of the lads was unfortunate enough to become ginger after chemo......he wasn't that bothered about loosing his port plum and having it replaced with a prosthetic one (which lead to some great games and a rather unfortunate incident with a visiting American sailor...:eek::eek::eek:)

I vote for that one.

Are you asking for charity suggestions? Or just encouraging us to donate??

if the latter, you've succeeded by friend is doing a bike ride and I've just remembered I need to sponsor him.

I don't do charity, but if I did, it would have have to be either London Air Ambulance or Northamptonshire and Something Air Ambulance :p

I've raised just under a grand for shelter so far this year - not a bad charity (but not fitting your requirements).

I'm walking half marathon next month for Cancer Research UK. Justgiving link in sig - no money raised yet as I've not been able to find time to fundraise :(

Kidney Research is the charity I support as best I can.
As somebody who has suffered Kidney failure and has had a transplant it's something I want to see the end of - Kidney problems.

I'd donate to Practical Action

They give the worlds poor acess to basic techonologies, teach farming, make flood warning systems and have lots of innovative technologies.

They're not necessarily the live savers, but they reduce the impact of disasters, and help communities look after themselves.
