I'm gonna call it now, this is game of the year...no game of the decade.

Imo nothing will come close to this on next gen until Rockstar decide to make GTA6.

well done to them, one of the last developers left in the business who put passion above greed. everything in that video looks amazing, "including classic game modes" I really hope that includes free roam, while a persistant online world is SUPER FANTASTIC I want to be able to relax and not have to worry about being gunned down by a rival everytime I just wanna cruise or mess around as it were with a couple of friends.

In either case this is going to keep me occupied for ages and I've no need to 'waste' money on a new console for a very long time.

EA and many other developers need to take a very big leaf out of rockstars book. This is how you create gaming masterpieces, not chucking out re-hashed iterations every single year.
 
Hour long GTA Online preview. They went to R* North and saw a 50 Minute demo. Obviously they don't show it but they talk about it.

 
So true but the $ says different. Look at CoD - rehashed for less money, chuck a butt load of marketing money at it and reap the rewards.
 
They haven't really talked about the radio stations or music yet, I wonder if they'll give anything away before release. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I hope they go for a San Andreas style system where the stations change and tracks/ads are played in a different order as the game progresses.

Ah just checked the website, seems it'll be part of the next reveal if the 'coming soon' tiles are anything to go by.

Agreed. But you can't blame them for regurgitating the same crap year after year. Blame the masses who line up every year for COD , Fifa, pes ect

It's easy to do when the majority of the people buying those games are stupid, on an intellectual and educational standpoint and have no respect for money, nor any passion for the games industry beyond their own opinion of COD being the best game ever made.

There are plenty of games out their made for gamers, out of passion and growth of games as a whole who deserve more money than EA should ever get.

But that's how the world works. :rolleyes:

A few tracks have already been reveled via trailers and such, but you just know the sound track is going to be amazing as it always is.

Just reading through the early posts in this thread (started nearly two years ago :o), some quite funny stuff.

Found this list of 'leaked stuff' from the game someone had quoted from elsewhere:

The protagonist is Hispanic and his name is Adrian

It takes place in San Andreas in the year 2012. The Mayan end of the world thing is parodied a lot because of this.

You start out in Los Santos and are in your rivals turf. Varrios Los Aztecas after getting beat up and robbed
The game revolves around money in a big deal. I’d reveal the big idea but I don’t want to ruin it.

Multiplayer is in again. There are a couple of new game modes, co-op story and 32 player game modes for consoles and 64 player for PC, PC also includes dedicated servers

Pc comes out on launch and is being ported by Leeds. From what they’ve shown us it is optimized much better than GTA 4

San Andreas includes all the same cities from GTA SA and this time they have all become a bit bigger as well as much more detailed.

Gang turk wars are back. This time not only the general gang are in charge but different sets such as 57th Ballas or the Eastside Azteca. The have their own graffiti. You can tag up stuff with custom sprays too.

In the end your protag dies once again just like in RDR. Afterwards you play as his brother who inherits the money.

“The Money” I refer to comes from a massive drug trade that ***** to San Andreas. It is fought over a lot throughout the story and it comes with lots of money. It has ties to your family so it becomes a bigger deal.

The timeline continues off of GTA 4. It is reference a lot. I’m not really sure whether Niko dies but he’s mentioned at least twice.

Car modding is back so is lowriding of course.

There are 9 radio stations. It features a range of music. Some of the rap is new, some is old. There’s a better selection than GTA4
though IMO.

Military has returned in the 5 star wanted level except they are referred to as the National Guard.

Cover system is upgraded and players more smoothly

The moral decisions you saw in GTA 4 have more effect on the story now. There are a total of 4 unique endings 2 bad, 2 good.
Whether protag dies in all of them you’ll just have to figure out since the endings are actually pretty cool.

Suddenly I'm very interested in online. Still a little confused about how some of the mechanics will actually work, but it looks very, very good!
