Now I know why I don't want to become a PC Gamer!!!!

Please tell me you are one of those people who sleeps with their mobile switched on and under thier pillow?

If not then, then please start doing this. If you have your WiFi router in your bedroom, please make sure it is positioned as close to your head as possible. I also recommend that you drink more, smoke more, and take more drugs. I would also like you to change your diet to three fry ups per day, and if you are on the move, only ever eat at McDonald's.

I am advising you to do this, not because I hate you and want you to die sooner, but because I know you are smart enough to see through all those phoney baloney health scares, as your desperately (un)funny cartoon demonstrated.

I'd recommend you at least take a first year undergrad level electromagnetism or nuclear physics course, you may as well be saying food that is microwaved contains radiation.

PC gaming is great as I said its 100x simpler then back in 1992 etc... So many great games and you can as mentioned plug a controller in, use Steam big picture mode and you're all sorted.

Console like gaming on the big screen with better graphics...

I've had friends quit due to issues with game installs... none of them had paid for any legitimate games mind you (figures) with steam and things like the geforce experience PC gaming is getting easier by the day, and for every small niggle i get i can think of hundreds of things that are better than the console experience.

Yup. Got my own little Steam box that boots straight into Big Picture connected to the TV with games like Assassin's Creed on it that work great with a controller. Even made my own autohotkey scripts so I don't have to use a mouse to click play on splash screens or whatever :D.

I would recommend that you lose the pomposity with regards to the paltry knowledge you have picked up on your college course.

From research done by nuclear scientists as far back as the 70's, the microwave radiation band was considered as hazardous. This would be the sort of orthodox widely accepted knowledge that smart dick students would quote in pub arguments in order to make themselves look big and clever.

Unlike yourself, I was a fully developed adult when mobiles phones first started to become mainstream in the mid 90's (I am guessing you would have been 5 years old), and because all the previous science suggested that putting microwave radiation through the air was hazardous, there was quite a hoo-haa about the mobile revolution at the time. With mobile telephone masts sighted near primary schools making headline news. These days of course, a child is exposed to much higher radiation sitting next to the wireless router in his class (WiFi banned from elemetary schools in Germany and France btw), than he is from the big bad nasty mobile telephone mast's, that used to make headline news. As a reaction, to the health scare, a considerable amount of research has been conducted into the possible environmental and human health impacts of microwave telecoms technology, the vast proportion of it, funded by the telecommunications companies themselves. Since then, a very different kind of orthodox knowledge has surrounded the microwave radiation issue, which is the same kind of orthodox knowledge that snotty nosed little paps quote from their college courses, in order to look big and clever.

Whilst the telecoms companies have succeeded in changing the orthodox laymans consensus on microwave radiation, they have still taken care to include things in the small print of their WiFi products H&S handbooks (you know, that small but thickly packed booklet that nobody ever reads) such as:

Phone should be held at least 3-4 inches from body organs.

Mobile phone use not recommended for use children under 12.

Mobile device should be held 3 inches away from ear when talking

and the list goes on with a vast variety of complex ass covering small print statements.

Hey Davy Pitch (Admin)...how about then deleting also the very similar posts directed at me.....perhaps you could also threaten 'Spunkey' with a ban, as I took offence at his comment above, which placed me in a state of alarm (which is a criminal offence)

I have made the mistake of stating my views on WiFi and have been hit with the same old snot from the usual snot brigadiers ever quick to sniff out someone with a minority opinion (and in this case, a correct opinion) in order to pour derision upon it.

I have been getting dirt flicked on me throughout this thread which is causing me to respond the way I do, which I wouldnt need to do if you were doing your job properly.

I have also edited Spunkey's post. There are no other posts which even come close to yours.

Questioning my moderating ability is also not a way to get me on side. If you have a problem with my decisions, you are free to contact me through my Trust to discuss it. I will not enter a discussion about it on here.

For the record, your posts are not helpful or even on topic in a thread discussing why PC gaming is sometimes more difficult than console gaming. Perhaps if you stick to the topic in future, you will find you have less problems.

The reference to the health implications of WiFi (aside from the fact that Wifi could be ruining the OPs gaming performance) was a small side point I jokingly made..... which got me a few 'tin foil hat' replies....which annoyed me.

Quite a few of your posts are confrontational, just ease up a little bit :/

Anyway back on topic, for some reaso I always get PB issues with any game, does my head in as to why it cant update itself. I just dl'd teh client and added my games, ok every time after ive done that

If you aren't trolling then I advise you get some help.

On topic: OP, google exists for a reason. Searching for your question provides plenty of resources to solve this. PC gamers don't even need to have any trouble shooting skills these days, cause 9/10 times there's already something online about it.

/enter back in my day speech about how hard playing a game could be sometimes be etc etc pc master race etc etc

Lol troll!

yes, PCs do take a bit of configuring sometimes do get things running correctly - I always thought that was part of the 'fun'

My advice, get your machine up and running with drivers, punkbuster etc. so its stable then leave it be.

Yes, and 9/10 times, when people search on google looking for trouble shooting tips and such, they find the answers they are looking for on threads such as this, invariably with someone posting "why don't you just google it" somewhere in the thread.

If someone where to say to you, "lovely morning isn't it?" Would you reply, "Why are you asking me?"
"It is perfectly obvious by looking up at the sky that it is a lovely morning!"

No, I am not trolling. Are you?

When it works, PC gaming is THE best experience.

When it doesn't work... Well, it's frustrating and the speed of resolving the issues is down to the user's google-fu.

Generally, console gaming is hassle-free. PC gaming isn't. If the steam box ever materialises, that could provide a happy medium.

That's funny I've googled the OP's problem and found answers stated on many sites, this thread didn't even show up. Try again.
