I have no problem running games on high settings with just an overclocked 7950 @ 1440p.
I don't bother with AA as it really isn't needed at this res, unless you sit with your nose right against the screen.
This is absolute nonsense.
Care to explain? I play all the time with an FPS cap of 59. If it drops to 55-56 I feel it immediately.

If you can feel a difference of 3 fps you're either superhuman or something else is factoring in.
I also fell it immediately, its because we are used to it being constant and at a particular level it becomes very noticeable to us.

Don't believe a word of it tbh, even on my 144hz monitor in older games like CSS if I cap it to 144hz and it drops below a few fps it doesn't feel any different. I also used to do it on my 60hz monitor, you must have some special eyes buddy.
We were talking about 60fps and bellow, the higher up the fps scale you go the noticeable it gets, so of course you wont notice the difference.
You went full apples to oranges there.
Did you read my full post? I used to do it on my 60hz monitor as well and still didn't notice a difference unless it started dropping into the 30's.
You are less sensitive, we are not robots coming off the assembly line and because you dont notice so others wont either.
Strange that then as my sensitivity going from 60hz to 144hz was massive whereas others say they notice hardly any difference.
Point being I bet without an fps counter you couldn't tell the difference between 59 and 56fps.

One high end card won't be more than enough, it won't even be enough or nearly enough. If you want the eye candy all turned up to 11 you'll definitely need 2 cards. 7950's xfire is by far and away the best bang for buck right now and way better than Titan/780 in terms of value. There is no need to go SLI or crossfire. One high end card will be more than enough.
