IF we get Fellaini our aerial game will be so dominate. Rio, Vidic and then Fellaini. Teams won't be able to handle that. Plus, we do need some height in midfield and the third of the pitch.

You can't win the big competitions relying on an aerial game though. I don't mind signing Fellaini but I don't think that Everton want to sell and they won't sell for less than the expired release clause. For that sort of money there must be plenty of players that we could buy that would improve us more.

As a lot of Everton fans will tell you, Fellaini is unplayable a few games a season, the rest of the time not so much. We need to add real quality not depth to our squad. We never have problems bringing in backups, we need first team players who will make us a much stronger team. To me Fellaini doesn't do that.

The amount of long balls we pump uo the pitch height clearly doesn't hurt. But rather relying on our defenders punting the bwll over our hapless midfield - how about we just buy footballing midfielders?

On the other end of the scale give Dalglish £100,000,000... :p

LOL

I would be happy with the singing of Ashley Williams and Michu from Swansea.

Both Michu and Williams are going to cost the earth now, at least £50mill for the pair of them as its late in the transfer window now.

Tbh we should have grabbed Benteke when he was wanting out, Villa wanted £25mill iirc correctly, not that i think hes worth that much but then again he scored 2 goals against us on Sat:p.

Think we should try and nab Fellaini as well if possible and even Baines.

This is our injury list from what i can gather and it really makes for sad reading :(:
Sagna
Rosicky
Gibbs
Monreal
Arteta
Ox
Vermaelen
Diaby
Ryo
Ramsey

a lot of players who are first team that are out, Ox and Arteta are the long term ones from what i can gather. What an absolute nightmare and we have a game on Wed in Turkey as well :/

Took their time, but about time! If only it had the words, "not for sale" in the statement. :D

Everton can confirm that it has received bids from Manchester United for two players. Those bids were immediately rejected out of hand as derisory and insulting.

The Club did not make public these details as it was vital Roberto Martinez’s preparations for the opening game of the Premier League season were not disrupted in anyway.

Who do you reckon we're more likely to sign first? Baines I think. Do love the fact that we could have signed Fellaini for a known price that Moyes would have been certain about but because we were chasing Thiago/Fabregas we didn't bother bidding. Can't see why having Fellaini AND one of Thiago/Fabregas would have impossible to arrange. We've a shortage in midfield. One player won't solve that. Two would have been great.

Interesting tweets from Nina Bracewell Smith who is Arsenals honorary VP.

Arsenal’s honorary vice-president Nina Bracewell-Smith has revealed that she regrets selling her stake in the club to Stan Kroenke.

Lady Bracewell-Smith sold her 15.9% state to the American businessman in April 2011 – but she’s now wishing she hadn’t.

In Twitter comments that were later deleted, she wrote: “Bring Davie Dein [back] and give [Alisher] Usmanov representation on the board if we are to have success going forward.”

Adding: “And how deeply I regret selling to Kroenke.”

Bracewell-Smith’s shares allowed Kroenke to become the Gunners’ majority shareholder.

Earlier this summer she had criticised the club’s transfer targets and has generally been a fierce critic of the current board.

Worst decision to make Kroenke our majority shareholder, should have given it to Usmanov. At least hes gone on record to say a few times that he would get players like Rooney et al into the squad and hes a billionaire to boot as well. Mind you if the reports are true that we have £150mill in cash reserves then there is no excuse as to why we are not buying any big name players this summer.

Yea, it's possibly the worst start to a new campaign! Miss management or just bad luck??

Why clear out a lot of players and not replace them? Surely there are players available that will strengthen the squad.

Example, Yilmaz of Galatasaray would be a good addition. Available around £20mill, yet, he seems to be off to Lazio.

And coming out and saying we have £70mill to spend, only makes player acquisitions more expensive!

Idiot Gazidis!

The way I look at it is who would Fergie buy... Baines yes, but Fellaini not so much which is why United went after Fabregas first and not when Fellaini had an active release clause.

But I think Moyes would prefer Fellaini more than Baines, it's obvious what they're doing though. Next week they'll bid £20m, that'll be rejected, few days later they'll match the old release clause and that'll be rejected and Fellaini will hand in a transfer request and he'll be gone.

Arsenal also in for a current top Premier League midfielder....

hmmm... I wonder who? Anderson? :D

As time goes on, Dein seems more and more right.

The Willian stuff seems to be changing all the time, yesterday 1/3 to sign for us, earlier this morning 13/8 and now back at 4/6

Dein walking away was a huge loss to us, ive said it numerous times over the years that since he left, we are absolutely clueless in the transfer market. What Gill was to Utd, Dein was to Arsenal...he was the guy that brought Wenger in and then supported him fully in the transfer windows before he left. He got us players like Bergkamp, Overmars, Petit, Vieira and Henry.

LOL Arsenal have just made a bid for Cabaye of Newcastle, just being reported on SSN now. Again no idea if he is any good, any Newcastle fans want to chime in??..panic buying now!!!111!!!
