*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Does anyone know how to stop the S4 from alerting me to Junk Emails from Hotmail? I've had a look through the settings but cannot see an obvious setting. If I get alerted to another email about adding a few inches or getting cash for gold I'm going to throw the phone in a meat grinder!

Is this through the Hotmail app? If so, how about your pipe your Hotmail in through Gmail? I find Gmail's spam filter to be pretty amazing.

Cheers James.

How are you getting on with 4.3 PACMAN?

well, right now i have two issues. Focal can crash and take the camera out, needing a reboot, and middle manager of justice sometimes crashes when loading a save. the first isnt a ROM issue and the second...probably isnt a ROM issue:p

It's very good, shouldn't be called an alpha IMO. I missed roboto condensed so i flashed it, available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348706

I had a few FC's with PACMAN and don't think it's as smooth as ProBAM. I haven't had any FC's with ProBAM or random reboots. And as said previously I know antutu scores don't count in real life but ProBAM does score much much more. The main features I wanted from a ROM was CM customizability with PA per app DPI, we have a full HD screen, let us make use of it!

Disagree. In my experience both are equal.

Pacman 4.3 alpha 3. No over clock and stock supplied kernel.

Sounds good, looking forward to it.

When taking a panorama pic it is either too dark or too light in the case of too light it is like a flash has gone off.

I have some pics back when I was on TW to show the overexpose issue. Just have to take shots like the first pic below where the lighting is even from right to left. Hopefully there's an update so it sorts the auto exposure on panoramas.

I've never had this problem and ive taken a few panoramas

You obviously haven't taken enough :p

That's the problem,sometimes much worse though,thanks thought i had a faulty one.
Maybe it is software related because my old s3 has no problem like this.

While were on about cameras has anybody else had problems with the focus on the s4? Its very hit and miss and doing my head in. Most of the shots I take are out of focus or blury, the S3 focused much better, not good really.

I am going to give ProBam a try coming from foxhound. Do I download probam_v4.4.1_jfltexx or probam_v4.4_i9505?

Regards

I've done some testing with this and I'm not sure whether it is a focus problem, or more that the shutter seems to be open for longer in lower light compared to other phone cameras, so even the very smallest movement (by you or the subject) will result in a blurry photo.
In brighter light where the exposure time is 1/100 or more almost every single one of my photos is pin sharp. Indoors, (i.e. exposure times around 1/20) more than half are blurry, despite holding very still and bracing against something. Taking the exact same photo with my S3 or iPhone 5 results in a much better photo without blur.
I posted this elsewhere but people are very defensive and say it must be me, despite direct comparison to the S3 and iPhone 5.

EDIT: Using Camera FV-5 from the market and setting the shutter speed priority mode to 'short' made a huge difference.

Pretty much what L33 said.

GS 4 shutter is slower (either that or problems with focusing) especially in low light (and even more so when using night mode since it uses a similar process to HDR)

Seen so many people post about the same problems on XDA and for quite a few was the reason they went back to the HTC one due to the insane shutter speed + OIS etc. and being able to capture blur free shots of their kids, pets etc. and even more so when they used zoe. There are quite a few comparisons in the photo thread near the beginning iirc.

First I read of that panorama problem though!

Glad its not just me then! And yes when only inside where there is low light but in the exact same conditions the S3 is much better, outside is a different story, the S4 is brilliant and produces pin sharp images. Shame really as this phone is pushed for its camera but its a bit pants indoor!!

Probably the best score I had on my S4 with PACMAN, I tried a few others Google edition Etc. And never got over 22K until now. I'm happy with ProBAM anyway, next to no difference between it and PACMAN now anyway.

Not all that surprising really. check their github and you'll see what rom probam is forked from .......

I know it's a derivative of PACMAN, it's just as I mentioned before I had problems with PACMAN FC's and for whatever reason I don't have those problems on ProBAM, thus why I moved. And also Foxhound is TW based where as PACMAN and ProBAM are AOKP.
