Im not a smoker (Unless im drunk) or even an ex smoker but these vaporisers have me very interested in them. Some of the things guys at work amaze me flavours wise etc.. Its incredible.. Is there something anyone to recommend to get started and some links to e-liquids for them?

It sucks as i just came from a town with a very good shop selling everything in Flintshire :/

It's a bit of trial and error I'm afraid. Personally there's nothing better than a 306 atomiser and a drip tip but most prefer some kind of feeding system.

There's so much choice now you can't really go wrong unless you get one of those cheap corner-shop ones.

basically buy a decent battery (anything 3.7v or above) then play with different atomisers/feeding systems until you find one you like.

my device has got hot however in all the testing and mess ups. Im going to let it cool off and if it keeps doing then obviously something is wrong.

Glad you cracked it. The top cap will get hot, which is normal, and after pulsing the coil loads (poor batteries, I keep one aside just to be abused for this) the whole base can be scorching hot.

Sometimes I think I have it down pat, then I go to build a new coil and spend days trying to get it right! The wick will bed in as well, which makes it easier to fix shorts as they pop up over the first few days (this will happen!). If the wick is good, never bin it lol.

I don't normally recommend vaping to non-smokers, but you can pick up zero-nicotine liquids and pop them in a device if that's what you fancy. A lot of the best premixed liquids only come with nicotine though so you may miss out on the favourites.

I don't really know. I know nicotine isn't something i want to be hooked on but i do like smoking when im drinking always have. I just won't ever do it sober as my main gripe with smoking is the smell it leaves on me and my clothes etc. When iv been smoking on a night out i seem to crave them the day after.. Just looked into them a lot and these seem a great alternative! I love golden virginia and seen you can get this in e-liquid form.

Just after some advice and some opinions on it first... Based on that i may take a shot at the cheapest setup with some liquid and try it.

there's plenty of zero nic juices available. I mix my own liquid (easier than it sounds) so I control how much intake I have.

But remember, whilst addictive, nicotine is not the harmful chemical in cigarettes

How long does a mesh wick actually last? From reading that I take it as they can last indefinitely?

I just assumed they do eventually die/deteriorate?

If you could give me some advice on were to find these liquids and a good starter kit?

Are the normal setups the same for zero nic do they work the same or do you need different atomisers etc

same setup mate, i just got my cousin this http://www.vapeland.co.uk/ego-t-ce4-mini-starter-kit-650mah-309-p.asp and i made her up some 0 nic juice and she loves it.
not sure where u buy 0 nic juice though
also taste is very subjective, i persoanlly dont like tobacco juices, but just cause it says its like golden virginia does not mean it will taste the exact same

edit liberty flight do some here http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=73
buy 10mls samples at first until u get a flavour u like then buy bigger amounts as it works out cheaper

You can use whatever juice you want, you don't different atomisers per juice type.

I mainly use LibertyFlights.co.uk, ivapour and EcigWizard. Basically you want to look for any 510 compatible body (Lavatube, Ego, Bolt) then a decent atomizer (I use these http://www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/atomisers/low-resistance-atomisers/lr306-atomiser-1.html with the drip tip) then buy any liquid you like.

It's hard to advise as there is a lot of personal preference. It's kind of like asking what is the best hatchback, different courses for different horses and all that....

Making your own juice really isn't that hard, especially if you don't want nicotine.

LibertyFlights have a good DIY section.

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/category.asp?categoryid=13

Basically buy all the concentrate flavours you like. Mix 10% flavour concentrate, 10% water with 80% Propylene Glycol (available from Boots) and you are good to go.

same site :p http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=6
its usually the bottom one of each flavour that is 0% nic
but as estebanrey said, it will be MUCH cheaper to make your own, as nicotine is the dearest part of the juice.
persoanlly i would get some samples, find what u like, then make it yourself, u could make 10ml of juice for about 60p lol

i use ejuicemeup or ez-mix for costs but i will have a look at yours :)

Sure there are online versions. My original spreadsheet was a lot more advanced, allowed using multiple flavours and told you the costs and all that jazz. But I lost it (damn corrupt mem card), so that is a quick one but not bad for newbies :D

That hotspot is likely caused by the wire biting into the oxide layer. By the look of your wick you have bent it to be close to the centre post. I did that to and had hit and miss coils / wicks. The drillbit method (has been talked about on here before) and pulsing have over come most of that for me.

You can also get a top leg hotspot from not being 'neat' enough. Getting the wire as smooth as you can there will stop the heat gathering in kinks.

My main advice is never be re coiling to vape. Have something that 'works' on standby while you make your coil, as sometimes things just don't work.

First 20mins of this video show what I mean by drill bit method and pulsing.

its ok isnt it, :)
can u add sections for the pg/vg ratio?
but tbh i have most of my diy recipes save on ejuicemeup and have a template created as well, so i am good to go.
but it was a bit daunting at first, and for a new mixer yours is much easier to understand
