Hi everyone who reads this and also thanks for reading!

I have just recently bought a AMD piledriver 4.4ghz 9350 processor and a Matrix HD7970 platinum to join my Asus reference 7970.

My system:
Geil Corsa Evo 1833 2x4GB
Sabertooth 990Fx
Corsair HX 850w
CF HD7970
Piledriver 9350

Now I haven't tried to overclock the cards I just wanted the performance boost I should get from another £380 card that should give it to me! But... When I have it on crossfire or no, there is no change to my performance what so ever.. Maybe 2 fps.

I've tries both cards separately, both same fps on all games solo. So both must be working fine. I've tries swapping slots, and reinstalling drivers. And also syncing clock speeds! Nothing works! Please help I am on the verge of sending this back and preordering a 7990!

Very Kind Regards to any one whom helps!

David

Hi welcome to the forums

Whats your gpu and cpu usage? Run heaven benchmark in windows mode and open up task manager or core temp.
Does xfire have to be enabled in ccc or gpu tweak?

My two Matrix 7970 Platinums run very fast as a double act.

I don't know much about AMD CPUs but I suspect the problem could be there.

Are you using the latest 13.8 Beta 2 drivers?

Also double check to make sure crossfire is actually enabled in CCC.

Hi, I have the latest beta drivers but I don't see a second box that I have to tick like in your picture. And also I have vsync disabled. I bought the CPU because it is the best CPU I can get for my mobo and I can't afford to change mobo as well. Even if my cpu has been used can I still return with the 14 day satisfaction guarantee?

Like I said. X-fire isn't enabled.

Which games have you tried? You mention 2 FPS difference, but not in what. There are some games that simply don't like 2 GPUs, and some that are heavily CPU bound so adding more GPU makes no difference.

Also, remember a 7990 is simply two 7970s on one card, so unless PCI-E bandwidth is your issue (unlikely) swapping one for the other won't make a blind bit it difference.

With the money you'd spent though, you could have changed the CPU and Motherboard after selling your own board at pretty much the same expense, with better performance with your 7970 Crossfire.

What board is it OP? Do you have PCI-E lane configuration in BIOS? With the last two boards I've had (1155 socket and 1150) in the BIOS I can see which PCI-E devices are seen by which lanes for GPU's.
For example my 7970 would say AMD Radeon, PCI-E 3.0 16X in the first lane, see if they're getting detected properly.
