£1500 Gaming Rig - Advice

Well. I Have 128gb SSD with Just OS and 2x3TB Raid0 HDD (6TB Total) for Games.

The reason I do this is IF something happened to 1 of them I wouldn't lose the lot. If I got a virus, I could just blitz my SSD with a fresh windows install and all my games would still be there from the get go.

Not to mention 500gb will fill up very fast if you have a bundle of games / DLC.

I have ALL my games installed (Some duplicates Steam/Origin) and I have 4.1TB left.

TBH I just think its a smart idea to keep your OS separate from everything else.

Its low profile ram so is ok.

Thanks :)

I may just partition the SSD (if possible) and use half for 120gb for OS an the rest for games/programs which I use heavily.

What are the pro's an con's of 2x7970 vs 7990 ?

Only cooling? Or performance too? Will 2x7970's fit in my case?

A 7990 is two built into one, so you get two high end coolers instead of one reference. You plug one card into slot 1, and the second into slot 3, and it'll fit in any ATX case. Another benefit is that if one card fails, you can still use the other while you RMA it.

OK, so I've purchased the HD7990, and the rest of the components to be ordered on payday.

I've been thinking though about a windowed case. So i was wondering if there are any motherboards in the Z87X-OC's price range that match the red and black colour scheme?

I've seen the Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO and the MSI Z87-GD65. But are they of comparably quality to the Z87X-OC? Are they good overclocking boards?

Done :)
