what a horrible ride home.. nearly had a head on with a car going down hill at 35+ never been so close to jumping of my bike and beating the living crap out of a driver.. NEVER.

Ah not seen the RS80, just the C24s were almost £700. What's the difference between those and the RS80s?

Hmm the RS80s look an absolute steal at £330, but then the Dura Ace C24s look a damned good price at £600. Arg.

Ribble have the RS80s at £299 mate. Dura Ace will of course be a bit nicer, but it's the same rim, just a different hub. If you maintain the hubs then doubt you'll notice much difference in the end.

Also new Ultimate CF looks like a lot of bike for the money:

£2.4k - Carbon frame, 11sp Ultegra and a wheelset that's worth over £1k.

Getting N+2 fever atm

Om nom. If I had £2.5k to spend on a bike I know what it would be!

Although the Black/Yellow Force 22 version also looks sexy, the wheels on that one you linked would have to get the vote :D

Not giving Ribble any more of my money, but gone for the RS80s from PX. £30 for piece of mind is fine by me.

Guess I need to learn something about wheel maintenance and truing!

Did you guys flick through the Eurobike pics on Road.cc. Bloody dangerous. Could easily be n+5.

Hmmm....comfy! :)

Niceeee :) Yellow for me please.

Red or blue ftw. Although coloured tyres aren't as good as all black. They have to remove the good stuff to put the coloured stuff in.

Yeah wan't see prices and spec of the SLX too though.

im still on the original pads at the mo, but I will ask what pads to get when I need them :)
or I could get some ready for when I do..

I done 1500 miles plus so far

Nearly 4k on my DA pads and probably 50% wear left

Different wheel options, paint jobs, and maybe (wishful) reduced prices. Also interested to see when they will have 6870 Di2 bikes. Apparently some Trek bikes released in September will have it, but retail seems to be '14.

Gah, maintenance is infuriating.

I've given up on the Cervelo indexing this week; I'm going to try and ambush it at the weekend.

Instead I thought I'd work on the single speed. Been having problems with crank bolts coming undone so I changed them for some proper Royce ones but that doesn't appear to have solved the problem. I decided to today after doing some reading at work that the cranks were shot as riding with them loose means the BB axle will damage the taper on the cranks resulting in a consistently loose fit.

So I order some new cranks only for the order to be cancelled do to lack of stock. Instead I decide to swap the cranks out for some old Stronglight ones. I take them off the frame I'm giving to my mate and then find I can't actually remove the cranks from my frame. I even hit them with my mallet, but they wouldn't budge.

Threadlocked the bolts (again) and put them back on. I bet I lose them tomorrow and a crank falls off.

Done some maths, I've cycled over 3500 miles to and from work, that's approx 10 tanks of petrol. That's about £650 at current prices. I paid less than that for my bike (700£ in cyclescheme so approx 550 after all)
I've also lost load of weight, had fun and feel better!

don't! I've got a nasty habit atm when the pasty van arrives and my breakfast (porridge) is still too hot to eat I almost always pop down for something which ends up being an eclaire or yum yum or cake!
