42 miles this morning. I would have liked to hit 50 to get my next badge on the strava August challenge, but no matter.

It was full team kit day today. I saw several guys in BMC kits, one of whom had a hell of a belly, one in Saxo Tinkoff kit, and to cap it all there was a guy in Team Sky kit with a yellow leader's jersey.

You really can't be fussy about looks in that price bracket, the Triban is really the best in its class.

For £300ish it's the Triban 3, something worse from Halfords, or second hand.

this and that :o

after locking my wheel up to avoid having a head on crash with an SUV that just cut me off going down hill my tyre went to bin after less that a month :/ nice! massive cut on the side too.. just my luck!

flying out on wednesday was going to get some miles in on my bike before that :o looks like ill have to put some old tyres on.. need to get my KOM back after my little brother stole it on Thursday.

Oh the irony; went for a short ride to tesco yesterday. missus'(incapable of holding her own drink while on my mountain bike) drink caught on front brake and the instead of being attached to front of my bike the whole front brake is now dangling. Not sure if it was merely bad luck or brakes weren't attached properly in first place when it arrived as theres now nothing for the bolt to screw into so thats obviously missing now

Taking back to go outdoors on monday for refund, so, advice please as look at what happened when I didn't ask, eh? £380 max as at first I said £300 was my max

EDIT: and not Triban's; don't like how they look

Just for curiosity, can you show a pic of the damage? Is it the brake lever or the actual calliper that has come off?

The only guys I see in team kit either belong to the team, or can dish out the pain :(

Can't bring myself to get any team SKY kit, even if it is Rapha.

I've got to say though, I would wear one. I just see it like wearing a football shirt or something like that. They things Sky Procycling have achieved these last few years has been nothing short of phenomenal, so I don't think it would bother me that much.

seriously what is the deal with having your bike on the car, always amazes me how many people need to travel to be able to ride their bikes. fine if your doing some big ride or an event but the amount of people out this morning with 2 bikes hanging off the car was unreal.

i know theres that manc 100 on today but a lot of them where traveling away from manc.

anyways my latest trundle nearly knocked 6 mins off it since the last time i tried it. :D

Manc 100 is tomorrow.

If i was buying Pro team kit it would have to be something a little more obscure/unknown. I've seen quite a lot of Sky tops around this last month or so, certainly a lot more than earlier in the year or last year.

I have the Castelli Free Aero kit edition bib and s/s shirt in white and blue, looks smart i think and different to the blacks and whites you see a lot of (also got a white Capo s/s top and black/white Castelli Free Aero bibs for the "normal" look! :) ).

I do have a Sky top, supporters Tshirt only though! (and a Rapha Condor JLT one).

This guy was doing ok. He was with two others and we were in a group of seven. We rode as a bunch for a while with him and his mate on the front, so we got a fair pace up. I overtook him towards the end of the bit we did together, though, and one of our mates rode solo ten yards or so ahead of him to show them who was boss, but he is a competitive sort...

I've since seen team sky's ride on strava and he hadn't done the same distance or the amount of climbing we'd done by that point. I'm sure we'd have left him for dead if we were as fresh as he was ;)

That annoying moment when you forget to restart your garmin after finishing a workout program, and miss recording a balls to the wall sprint effort up a hill. Arggh! Did manage to record some other decent sprint efforts to make my power curve look a little better though :)

Lovely day for a ride as well, sunny but nicely cool when stopped, not too much wind either.
