GTX 780 Owners Club

I don't know if I can wait that long, plus I'll be forking out for the XB1 around the time the 9 series launch.

Could have picked up a brand new msi gaming oc yesterday from another site for £470 incl Splinter cell and Batman. Discount code expired yesterday but I managed to pick up a classified for £540.

If you can't wait, you can't really go wrong with a 780. (Just look for best price) The performance jump over the 680 and 7970 is pretty huge, when overclocked the 780's fly. I guess even if AMD's new cards are 5% - 10% faster you will prob still be happy with the 780. With a few upcoming games using Nvidia tech like Physx, Batman Arkham Origins and Witcher 3 for example the 780 will still offer something that the new AMD GPU's can't..

Yeah think I might go for it, 1200core 7000mem a decent overclock?

Yeah 1150mhz - 1200mhz @ stock volts. 1200mhz - 1250mhz is prob about average at 1.2v, now 1.3v has been unlocked some people are hitting 1350mhz+. Mine is fully stable @ 1300mhz @ 1.3v. Very happy with it :D

If you get one there is no chance you will be disappointed with it's performance, it's only the current price that's a bit disappointing. Like that guy said above ^^. Some good deals around on 780's. Get a good deal and you will be sorted.

Think I'm going to buy w3bbo's from him for around £430, he's replaced the TIM too which I think voids warranty but it should be nice and cool with that windforce cooler. I'd love to put it under water but it's too much hassle for me.

Decided against buying a used card with no warranty, too much money to risk.

Anyone here have a 780 working on an Asus Maximus V Gene mobo? Heard there is compatibility issues that's all.

What brand/model 780's would you guys recommend?

Hmm interesting, I hadnt heard of any such problems. I have a Zotac reference 780 waiting to go in a VI Gene.

Can't really go wrong with evga/msi/gigabyte/gainward.

VI is a newer board so I doubt it would have compatibility issues anyway.

I've always wanted an EVGA card, are the classified cards binned? Are any 780's binned?

The only 780's I know are binned are Lightnings, even at that they're binned for the cold. You'd be hard pushed to find anyone binning GK110 for air use.

Though generally thanks to the extra power phases and it is out of the box able to do 1.35v (no softmod hack needed) the Classified will certainly out pace most other 780's, even if you get a bad clocker you can bring it up to standard with volts.

After having a bit of research it seems none of the 780's are actually binned, they are just tested at the speeds they're rated at. I'm liking the look of the Palit Super Jetstream, nice out of the box OC, keeps itself cool and quiet and is 50-60 quid cheaper. Only problem is if I ever need to RMA it their base is Hong Kong :(

Impressed with my Gaming Ed 780 so far although I've not really tested it with any really recent games so not getting too carried away, nice to see things like Crysis Warhead and Anno playing at 1440p over 60 fps though.

PNY XLR8 Enthusiast Edition GTX780

This is an interesting card, has one of the highest out of the box boost clocks I've seen. I can't find any review on it though and most sites are showing a stock titan cooler on it whereas the site I first seen it on shows a triple fan custom cooler.
