**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Plan days off to play it, fair enough reasonably small percentage will do this but still its adds to the excitement for many, people knowing a definitive release date will add more excitement, especially when Sony have given theres... people may still be on the fence and the release date is the last part of the puzzle we need.. the earlier they give the release date the better. Many places are still taking pre-orders infact i dont think i've seen any but allegedly Game who have stopped completley, some aren't guaranteeing release date mind.

I will likely take some time off when the console is released, if I can. That's mainly because I actually have some spare days I have to take, and there's no other time I would realistically want them (it's also my birthday in November, so another good reason). I'll wait and see though. If I don't take the week off, I'll be telling the wife that the following weekend, anything she wants to watch on TV can be watched elsewhere, the downstairs TV will be mine :D

I'll definitely be booking the week off of work or at least a couple of days, that's mainly the only reason I won't them to announce a release date soon.
Who else will be going to a midnight release? I know I will be :)

I'll be taking some time off mainly to ensure I'm in for delivery! :p Oh and to play with new toys of course.

Hoping my timetable for Uni gives me the release day off. First year was a three day week, fingers crossed for something that fits the XB1 release :)

. On a slightly related note has anything been said about UK TV on the XB1?

Not much at all

So sounds like pass through will work, which. Mans you can use split screen etc.
it's a feature that is going to take years to build, but should increasingly get more more exciting.

I certainly wouldn't use it as a reason to buy one any time soon. But hopefully in the coming years it would be a reason. We are already seeing top end Tvs coming with kienct style sensors and they don't even have split screen and half the other software benefits of an Xbox. It could be a great system and certainly interests me, but I doubt it'll be interesting any time soon, maybe in 2 years or so.

I suspect we'll see proper integration from Sky and Virgin given time. They are the two major players here. Possibly sky first due to their current deal with Sky Go as an xbox live gold exclusive.

I might be wrong but with multitasking on the X1 combined with the Sky Go app will there actually be much pressure on getting the HDMI through-put sorted. The way I see it you could just use the Sky Go app in a very similar way with little to no load time.

I don't think the Sky Go app offers the full selection of channels, plus you don't have access to recordings etc.

That's very true but I'm sure it will appease anyone who wants to watch TV on there at least in the meantime
Yup, I've thought the same thing myself. It'd be a good stop-gap until they get proper TV integration, and allow the users to get a good idea of how the app might work.
