Summer Transfer Window 2013/2014 aka Arsenal , we can afford folks and the mancs really want Fellani

What an embarrassing, demoralizing shambles Moyes and Woodward have been.

They've had 3/4 months to sort out targets and put in bids, 3 of which included acquiring Fellaini at a fixed price cheaper than the one they look like paying.

Instead they've left it to the last 4 hours of the last day of the window, where Fellaini has had to hand in a transfer request to force a move, Herrera has had to accept a pay cut AND United are incapable of completing paper work they've had 3/4 months to investigate, and they've thrown in yet another nothing bid on Khedira. All on players you could argue are not of the quality you would expect for a club like United (for the fees being thrown around).

They'll all improve us no doubt, but for a combined fee (if all three were to materialize, which you assume Moyes/Woodward had also assumed, given the bids today) of over £70m you expect a worldy in there somewhere.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the season ahead.

To be honest if Lukaku gets shipped out on loan I'd be asking for a permanent move if I was him.

With the striker situation at Chelsea he should be getting a chance to do his thing, instead Jose is going to put his faith in a broken Torres, an old Eto'o and a frankly not quite up to scratch Ba.

Nuts!

Who is the arsenal player with a vote of no faith from Wenger?

Arteta, Wilshere, Walcott, cazorla or podolski I.e. who will ozil replace as a first choice? Assuming those are your first choice 5.

He'll just have rests for the 3/4 games Wilshere isn't injured (or snorting coke ;))

How does one go from 70+ appearances to being completely out of favour in the next? Really hope Mata stays in the league. Also can't understand why Mourinho is trying to ship out both Ba and Lukaku, who will Chelsea have left up front?

With the amount of potential chances from the three or four players (incl Lamps) behind Torres, even he should bag a hatful this season lol

ooookkkkk so we now have rose and naghton for lb's uuhhh oooooh

i never rated BAE highly but letting him go without coentrao is a bit bonkers ...... unless we've got a new lb coming

So, you can't do comparisons like that. It depends how much clubs want to keep players and what it takes to get them to move. If you want to look at things that way then bale cost twice as much so you got a bargain ;)

If you had offered Ozil 28 million and it got rejected you would be whinging again about not paying enough to get a player.

If I was an arsenal fan I'd just be happy the club have shown a willingness to spend money and hopefully they will build on Ozil now with the odd big buy each year. It can't all be done in one window. They may come back for Suarez in January or next year.

Who knows, but Ozil is a quality player :)

Lets be honest its no secret Ozil was having issues at RM, and that with the Bale deal being agreed Real were looking to trim the squad. Spending 42.5 when the above was obvious is very unlike Wenger - Ozil should have been around 30m tops not 42.5m.

Yet we offered 40m and 1 pounds for Suarez when Liverpool were crying out for 50m, I know who I would have spent the extra 10m on ;)
