Depends if you're well paid yourself.

For example being on 50k a year and having a gf/wife on 15k would seriously dent your pay packet as you would probably have to foot the majority of the bills, whether they be household or holidays, or just not get a chance to spend yours (say by not going on good holidays).

On the other hand both of you on 50k would mean you can both contribute equally and not have to worry about paying for the other to do things with you.

I know it's relative, but being on 50k, I'm pretty sure you could easily afford good couple's holidays.

A better example probably would've been ~£25k and £15k.
 
My boss earns almost twice what I do, so is helping to bankroll my expensive bicycle and lycra habit. So if anything you should probably ask her the question :p.

Depends, if you're used to two £5k holidays a year and luxuaries at home, suddenly having to pay for two of you would put a large strain on your income (or you'd have to scale back your holidays). It's all relative, much like is £25k well paid/decent salary, which is one of the points a lot of people brought up (although most aiming at looks:p)

No, I look for someone who can actually engage with me, instead of being like my parents where you're tied into 40 years of loveless convenience.

I'd rather be single and die alone than with the wrong woman, I've learnt that lesson, wasted years of my life on it. I don't do middle grounds any more, it's either all or nothing, it's why I disagree with the entire concept of marriage. You either love someone and will spend forever with them, or you don't and you're glad to be shot of them.

Marriage just prolongs miserable relationships, it wastes money and people seem to blindly fall into it for no good reason because it's the "next step". If you need a next step theres something wrong with your lot in life, can't you just be happy as you are? But I digress, people can do what they like.

I've met very, very few girls I'd consider ugly. Sure some could use losing a bit of weight (one or two tonnes, maybe), but most girls are good looking in my eyes ;)

Guess my standards may be a bit... non-existent :p
