far too expensive for very little benefit

also spending £200+ on a hard drive for a £349 console is just stupid imo, that £200 could be better spent on a Vita which has remote play, which you could use to pre-load games for you so by the time you get to the tv the game has loaded.

Sure.

If you don't see having games load at lease twice as quickly a benefit.

Not sure if there is any truth in this story,
Sony is preparing to reveal the final piece of its PS4 hardware strategy at TGS by showcasing a PlayStation-branded virtual reality head-mounted display, CVG has learned.

It originally intended to reveal the Sony headset at Gamescom but plans fell through at the eleventh hour. The company is currently weighing up whether the PS4 device should be pitched as a key differentiator for the console or a non-essential add-on.

The matter has been slightly complicated, but not derailed, by the growing industry support for Oculus Rift. Sony's device will be a categorical rival to Oculus, and for months there have been rumours suggesting the two companies are seeking a partnership.

A games developer familiar with Sony's plans, who wished to remain anonymous, told CVG that Evolution Studios is currently working with the device to simulate a cockpit view on its PS4 title Drive Club.

Another developer claimed the virtual reality headset resembles the 3D headset that Sony first revealed in January 2011.

The head-mounted display will be available separately, like with the new PlayStation Eye, in order to keep the baseline PS4 price as low as possible.

In August, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida suggested to CVG that R&D work on such devices was currently underway.

"Y'know, we're Sony, so we have lots of different things and different ideas in R&D," he said.

"When it come to researching things, we are doing a lot of things that we can't talk about."

Sony intends to showcase over 50 PlayStation titles at the Tokyo Game Show.

That includes more than ten PS4 games such as Knack and Capcom's Deep Down, which was recently revealed to be an online title.

I think it was you mate who pre-paid your shopto account.

I've done the same, my Killzone Vita order has been processed and they have charged my card and not taken it off my account. I would be careful if you are hoping to pay for your consoles with account credit, it doesn't seem to work.

I ordered MGS on the Vita and they took it from my credit. I wonder why they haven't done the same with your order. Maybe send them an e-mail?

I've used pre pay plenty of times in the past and not had an issue? Or does the account credit work different ? I paid for my ps4 ages ago but wasn't via using account credit I just clicked pay

If i had the choice being pretty close to xmas and quite a few birthdays, i'd pay upfront, just so i know its done and dusted, but ive saved my cash, and so far resisted spending it on other things.

I actually just chuck some spare money in from time to time, I won't be putting the full amount in. It just softens the blow on release :p

It's nothing to do with being on the breadline or that i'm barking mad. Though I can be when i'm playing COD!

Best place to pre-order a PS4 from?

Incredibly annoyingly, I pre-ordered a PS4 in June from amazon and despite being supposedly based in Jersey have found they won't deliver to Jersey and my order's now cancelled and new orders won't arrive for release day.

Any suggestions on good companies to pre-order a PS4 from?
