I take a spare tube with me, it makes sure I never get a flat when I'm out!

One of our guys was talking about a ride when his brother in law got a flat and he had to ride back to town to pick up a spare tube from a shop and they charged him £8 for it. He reckoned they must have one price for people buying tubes normally, and one price for people rocking up in lycra in emergency conditions.

I get the feeling overshoes are going to be like winter gloves for me.

I'll try lots of different ones in search of a pair that actually works and keeps me warm and ultimately reach the conclusion that none of them work because I have poor finger/toe circulation.:(

Cool. I might try and make it down as well, but it's a tricky one as the gf works late most tuesdays so i need to be in for the kids if that's the case. Doing the pedal scotland 110 miler again this w/end, but stuffed with the cold right now. So hoping that clears up as well.

On a seperate topic, you still got any of the Wilier Izoard XP in stock in the shop at the moment? Never did get round to going to check one out. Ultegra preferably, but it would be nice to just see one in the flesh tbh.

Hard being a selfish cyclist isn't it? I think I'm single now actually.

Still got the medium ultegra model and a large in the Glasgow shop im in today. It does have sold on it though.

The izoard is lower in price for 2014. They are doing 105 for £1300 rather then £1650. It tops out at that to be replaced by the new gtr models from £1600-2200. £2200 gets you the gtr with ultegra 6800.

You could perhaps have Reynards so will be able to do very little about it unfortunately.

My Castelli bibshorts arrived today. **** me they're pretty snug, I'm very glad that I went for the large!

They look boss and the pad feels great. I'm only slightly considering sending them back for an XL...

I too have dire circulation in my digits, they're expensive but the Sidi winter cycling shoes are worth it. In the depths of winter I still wear two pairs of socks mind you, and if its wet my overshoes.

Could always try http://www.wiggle.co.uk/castelli-estremo-overshoes/. A little pricey for overshoes but extremely well reviewed.

They will stretch a little once you get in them. Good buy!

That does look like it could be good fun. My concern would be getting my bike up there and then back down again - Penrith isn't too hard to get to, but getting back from Whitby could be a pain.

If I go we'd be coming back down to Cambridge so could try and arrange something.
