How does the coil not short on itself with the wraps that close? Why doesn't the current just travel straight up the side?
The principle behind microcoils is that although they're touching, the overall resistance of the entire loop is enough to create a stable coil.
Also, with the turns all touching and the cotton acting as a buffer between oxidised mesh and Kanthal, the shorting is prevented.
I shall be brush-wrapping cotton on every single one of my mesh wicks from now on, this little extra stage makes coiling & working out hotspots a breeze!
As good as this dual wick, 0.7 Ohm business vapes (the flavour is fantastic!) I'm tempted to remove one of them as I've gone through half a tank in literally 5 puffs
I've also had to drill out my Aga's top cap, 2 x 1.5mm air holes, so the draw is incredibly airy. I can see this causing me a Nicotine OD very soon!
I received my bundle of wick & wire this morning (hence the mucking about), including some 2.5mm SS Rope...
I've got some household business to sort out before I've earned more Vape-Playtime (one of the few downsides to being married

), but I'll post back the results when I do
