Interesting at 1 minute the headphone connector has another label next to it EXT. Im sure its only ever been labelled as headphones in the past when weve seen the DS4. Or maybe I just missed that...

Thats interesting as theyve got their standard keynote at TGS on the 19th too...

@muggs - definitely just had the headphone icon last time I looked at it - wonder what else that EXT does other than charge the DS4...

im sure the ext port does not charge the ds4, the micro usb port at the front does that.

dont know what it would be for, maybe it connects to this poss vr headset, say if ps4 is too far away from where you want to play with the headset for the bluetooth to work?

would it be used to charge something? but that would mean charging from the ds4's battery which would be silly unless its a very low powered device, or high powered as long as you have the ds4 wired in.

could be some special headset(not vr) that sony plan to bring out that has special features that need that port, a headset that could tap into the touchpad and use that somehow? actually could be a headset that does game audio and chat...but wouldnt they be wireless?

maybe use the port to fit a micro transmitter/receiver dongle for something?

charges either on the dock, or via usb.
 
Pretty sure youd need a dGPU for such functions, did anyone notice the external PICEe connector, its to the right of the USB slots.

Either that or its a toaster, its no coincidence that Tefal hasnt been seen on the forums for a while...

EDIT: I think Ill start pre-ordering games post TGS!
