i've never wanted a console so much in my whole life. but i won't give and get one simply because i can't be doing with the controls. i've tried GTA4 on the pc with my xbox controller and there's no way i can do it. i'll just wait... besides it gives me plenty of time to save for a few upgrades. i know my current spec will be useless. :p

Spoke to someone via the Amazon chat thing and they said I would "definitely get it on the release day" but they didn't say when it would be released
 
I'm expecting Amazon will dispatch on Monday and risk 3% of the First Class deliveries not getting there the next day. Unless they don't mind annoying Rockstar in which case we will mostly be playing this over the weekend. :p

I really don't know what to do then. So it could potentially be here for this coming weekend?
 
How do people get good discounts on Flubit? I've pre-ordered from Amazon (£35), then immediately created a Flubit demand. Others have reported offers of £29-30 via Flubit.

My offer? £33. Woot! A whole £2 off, and not even likely to be delivered on release day!

You are absolutely right. I was merely browsing the forum index and this thread was top of the list, didn't realise it was the console thread, and just thought I'd get in and make my intentions public.

No chance, I was just being overly optimistic. Amazon don't actually guarantee it will reach you on release date, all it says on their website when you're ordering is this:

Want to receive this the day it comes out?

I'm sure if it didn't come on Tuesday you'd just send them an angry email and you'd probably get some vouchers or a free trial of Prime or something. No way will they be sending these out on Friday after Rockstar specifically asked for them to be dispatched Monday at the earliest.

Amazon will ship Wed/Thurs/Fri next week I suspect, unless they really are going to be forced to ship Sat/Sun/Mon which means they may go by next day courier rather than royal mail. I bet we will see them through the letter box from Sat morning onwards.

However, given Amazon's market position, will they really get penalised for shipping early and/or banned from selling in the future? Doubt it.

Ah thank you. I am a prime member on Amazon and they do guarantee delivery for Tuesday if purchased with prime. That isn't to bad. :) Also do Amazon charge your account as soon as the order is placed or upon despatch?

Upon dispatch but I believe because there are so many pre-orders in for this game they'll be processing orders earlier so you'll probably have the money removed from your account before the game has dispatched. :)
 
Amazon take money when the game is 'dispatched', so if the games are being sent out Monday, then the money will be taken out on Monday :).
