*** The Official Nokia Lumia 620 Thread ***

Do you have an app running in the background - like instant messaging, whatsapp or Kik?
I find these run the phone dry in no time.

Nothing running in the background at all. I'll just have to get into the habit of sticking it on charge at night. Just not used to the phone I suppose. After all I did come from a basic phone that didn't need charging for about 5 days!

All smartphones need charging every day, if not sooner if heavy use.
Charges for car, office, home are essential. That applies to all, apple, android and WP all I've had to charge everyday, the small battery doesn't help :( I wish bigger battery's worked, but it doesn't appear to.

Recently upgraded to the 620 after I lost my HTC explorer, not really missing android but could do with afew more WP8 apps coming out I'm sure the OS will grow and grow. The bat is the only real issue but the screen more than makes up for it, I live in a pretty sunny country so its nice not having to hide in the shade to look at the phone like I had to with the HTC.

the battery is fine unless you hammer it with certain apps. Yeah I know what you mean about the screen, just got back from Alonissos, Greece and no problems looking at the phone by the pool/beaches. Mind you, UK's been a good place to judge the phone in the sun recently. haha that will change, good tho, too hot!

The screen is sooo much better than my S3 in sunlight, I used it for directions around Barcelona in June and never had to look for shade :)

I lost my 620 last Monday.. bought another loved it so much :)
good though nokia sent me another case even though expiry date ran out for the offer thru O2. Very good of Nokia and Microsoft & O2 to do that, thanks

When I connect my unlocked, o2 branded 620 to NSU it is prompting me to update from 1030.6407.1308.0002 to 3046.0000.1329.2004. Searching for an OTA update on the phone says nothing is available yet.

Looking here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/availability-in-europe/

3046.0000.1329.2004 is for the 620 but is the Greece and Portugal Vodafone build.

Do you think its worth updating to see what happens? :) Strange that NSU is suggesting the non-UK, Vodafone update as well.

I got a few updates today, extras and info, touch.
when I look at settings/touch
it says
'ouch. there aren't any settings here currently. A firmware update should fix this. check with your network operator when this will be available.'
I know the amber update is due soon, seems a little strange this message haha?
any ideas boys and girls

Helios yes tried that, no updates.
seems a very odd message that, 'ouch'?
having said that phone is perfectly fine.

Hey,
I have a Nokia 520 - any reason why it turns off?
I have the screen password locked.

Is it broken you reckon?
I saw somehow i could hold the side button down and it would ask to slide down to turn off. Is this related?

When is it turning off? One off, all the time?

Run out of battery
Hold down lock button then slide down.
Hold lock button and volume down for soft reset
Battery dislodged
Phone crashed
Phone broken

That's your options.

Every now and again. Not constant and can go 1 week or 1 day until it next happens. Sounds stupid but i cycle a lot so my legs are quite 'big' and now jeans which used to loose are now annoyingly tight. Added to the fact the phone is quite big compared to my Wildfire S I'm wondering if it is pushing the button in when in my pocket and then walking along is making it swipe in my pocket.... Lol

Odd, what network are you on? It may be that the updates were meant to coincide with the amber update which for some reason hasn't been released on your network yet.

If you think it might be that, go to settings > touch and turn touch sensitivity to normal. You won't be able to use it with gloves on, but if that is whats happening it'll stop it.

I'm with O2, hopefully then the amber update will be applied soon, but that ouch message seems v odd doesn't it.

Its a long shot but worth a try. Didn't know the default was 'high'. Test over the next week or 2. Thanks.
