Scale comparison

I initially thought that as well, and then noticed how small the 18 hole golf course is in relation to the rest of the city. That changed my opinion somewhat :)

Have they confirmed it is 18 hole? The map is drawn showing 9 fairways so I assumed it was 9, though I appreciate it's just a representation and they may have confirmed it is 18. Either way, even if it is only 9 holes the golf course is tiny compared to the rest.

Having now seen the map, I wonder if one of the secret achievements is to drive every road. If so, I would be tempted to try and do it :D

GTA V is one of the qualifying "release day delivery" titles on Amazon:

"What is Release Day Delivery?
When you place a pre-order for an item offering Release Day Delivery and you select either First Class or One-Day Delivery (available for eligible postcodes only), Amazon.co.uk will dispatch your order prior to the release day, with the intention that it arrives with you on the actual release day."

For GTA V this applies to anyone who has preordered and not just Amazon Prime members.

Cheers mate. :)

I can tell you if you want.

The map looks smaller than what I expected to be honest. Also about 80% of it is countryside which I don't mind but I did like driving to San Fran in GTA: SA, looks like I won't be able to do it here.

I just hope in GTA5 they've got the traffic behaving properly on the highways. Nothing more annoying in San Andreas than getting up speed on the long stretches of coastal road, only to have a tractor erratically change lanes in front of you and cause a pile-up.

Isn't that more realistic? :p

Is that to the golf course or the achievement? I assume the achievement and due to your response, I assume there is in which case I am going to try for it. Though if it doesn't mark on the map which roads you have and haven't driven I think it may be impossible.

Assuming equal scaling then this map is 3 times the size of SA so the city should be also. I doubt it has been scaled equally but the city area is probably bigger than SA.

Quite a lot I would think, it was a pretty cheap deal as I remember.

Thankfully I've got plenty of space so I'll be installing both disks. If the game arrives before lunchtime next Tuesday I'll be popping home for my lunch to install the game, so that I don't have to waste time when I get home. Sad maybe, but I don't care :D

:p I will be installing both too, so if it comes early that's an added bonus to get that out the way.

I'm calling fake on the map (even though it does look okay) there has been multiple ones, all of different quality, all different legends and such,no confirmed blueprint map, which is the juicy detailed one :p

I dunno, maybe I had more expectations of the quality of it, but I'm getting the blueprint one so I hope that is a bit better.

I've never been worried as to the map size, nor the cut of los venturas and san fierro. the scale is awesome, from what has been shown to us...the city does look small on the map, but it will feel fairly big when you are playing.

plus SA was mostly hills/desert anyway, yet no one complained about that as there was tons to do, even more so this time around...

Can see myself spending 10+ hours modding vehicles alone, and that's just the first month :p

In relation to the driving all roads.

There isn't an achievement for it.

The map isn't fake, they're taken from the official guide book as opposed to the one that comes with the game.

Ahhh that's why it looks like that, fair enough so it is 'fake' :p

I'm glad though, as R* normally have good quality maps, and that looked like it was printed on poo...

That's awesome then, at least we know it looks like that :p

It would be nice if someone with an actual scanner or able to take non-terrible photos would upload one though. Why is it that whenever anything is leaked, it's always with a crap photo or video that looks like it was taken with the world's first camera phone?

Becuase in the case of this guide they were probably doing it quickly on the sly in the back room before the boss came in :p

On Monday I think I'll have one final blast around Liberty City just to get a feel for the controls again, and so I can appreciate the improvements they've made in GTA5. Will certainly be interesting to see how they compare.

I'm gonna get in a car and expect massive oversteer/understeer and it's going to go straight into a wall because of GTAIV and the boat handling lol! gonnna be fun.

So the shop near me will have the collector's edition of this, tempting...!

Go for it, if you are a fan and enjoy GTA then the price is nothing compared to how much entertainment your going to get from it.

Or just pay £35 for it and put the rest of the money towards a next-gen console. The cap and bag are going to end up in the back of everyone's wardrobes within weeks.
