*** iPhone 5S/5C - September 10th ***

Excellent addition tbh. Samsung will have their copying machines out in force for this. As long as there is the API's available for the devs, Paypal/Ebay transactions will be sweet. From a hardware perspective a lot of good stuff was produced by them today and I'm pleased.

The iPhone 5 with added polyCarbonate.

That price will drive people to the S. Even if the C is free* upfront, you will pay the extra for the premium phone.

*EE will find a way though. ;)

If you can afford to pay £469, I have few doubts that you'll be able to pay up the extra £80 for the 5S. Which frankly makes the 5C a little pointless.

Must say that the 5C looks rather nice IMO, and the 5S is a very impressive indeed. However those prices are getting sillier and sillier each time...

Still, I want to go back to the iPhone so I guess I'm going to just have to cough up the £629 for a 32GB model.

Sounds like that given they still have the 4S and it was shown as free on those US contracts, it's likely that is what UK networks will give away free on contract, so they don't really need to do anything with the prices of the 5C and 5S.

Want an iPhone on our network?
Have the 4S for free..... want a better phone, well you can pay more for it.
 
I was hoping for some kinda surprise. NFC or induction charging. Maybe I'll stick with my 4S.

Being on a business contract though, it makes little sense not to upgrade when my contract runs out. Sim only is still £15 a month+VAT. I only pay an extra £12+VAT for a new phone. Hopefull they'll bring out a new iPad mini in time for me for have one of those instead.
 
They've finally fixed the one issue that's bugged me since the original iPhone: getting dust and dirt in the area around the home button.

I doubt I'll upgrade, but that is one thing I'm glad they've sorted :)

Not enough bezel for a massive button.
 
So, instead of giving us an iPhone that is actually cheaper (by replacing the 4s), they are giving us an iPhone that is actually worse than the one that was supposed to be in its place (by replacing the aluminum bodied 5).
 
Will buy 32GB iPhone 5S for £629 and get 12 month contract on 3 UK The One Plan for £15 a month.

Sorted. Apart from I will be out of the country on the 20th. :(
