You can pick up a sealed and boxed 5 for at least £50 less than the 5C will be, and that price will only fall I expect as people sell up to fund their new 5C/5S.
The iPhone is desperately in need of a serious redesign with a considerably bigger screen. The OS is also seriously behind the times. Apple need to wake up or they are going to carry on losing market share to Samsung.
If the fingerprint scanner truly works well, I think it's a great idea. Shame Apple will probably have patented the **** out of it. I'd appreciate a feature like that.

The places I usually buy my second hand iphones they are currently going for 315-330 for a boxed/immaculate 5. Nothing against the new one but that's too cheap an upgrade for me from the 4S than to spend the extra for effectively fingerprint recognition.
Apple must get swamped with people wanting to do returns/replacements this time of year so people have immaculate second hand phones to sell. My usual place as always has loads of warranty boxed replacements for sale![]()

Your highly regarded Nexus is rather behind the times vs my Find 5 that already has a 1080p screen and a daft DPI326 vs 318? Hardly anything to write home about... Wait til the nexus 5 is launched with a 1080p display and massive PPI.
i.e. if you buy the 5C you're a mugIf Apple can manage to convince consumers to buy the iPhone 5c in favor of the free 4S, then it will maintain and possibly even improve its lucrative margins. Given the choice, consumers may be more inclined to spend $99 on what amounts to a marketing trick: a "new" colorful iPhone with the internals of the old, instead of a free model that features the last-generation iPhone design. Apple has always been good at pushing its customers to spend a little more — and in established markets, that could be the case once again with the iPhone 5c.
Agree with this 100%. It seems like Apple have lost a bit of creativity since Tim Cook replaced Jobs. I've got an iPhone 4S but I'm considering moving to a Samsung after this contract because Apple never seem to deliver anything new. The fingerprint tech seems like a nice idea, but will it just become a Siri? That seemed like something new at the time, but is now just a novelty.
How many finger prints can you register, can I unlock it with both mine and the gf's?
C doesn't stand for cheap after all ...
Would a 4s be a worthwhile upgrade from a 3GS ?
There are quite a lot popping up icon sale today Lols

I also agree.. I can't believe the price of the 5c are they serious? Not being funny but it's not like they need the money to be honest... Makes you wonder why they have to price it so high?

Thanks for the replyGenuine question. What is alluring about Samsung's handsets currently, both over an iPhone and over other Android and WP8 phones?
Good question. This would be useful. Let's hope it's not restricted to 1 digit at a time.
I would get a second-hand/refurbished 5 personally, but yes I'd say a 4S is still a reasonable upgrade from a 3GS.
Surely the smarter thing to do would be to sell the handsets cheaper, then get ways to lock in customers into the ecosystem through the App Store and iTunes. It might even push sales of Macs as they discover how seamless the integration between them is.
