The 5c is basically a iPhone 5 but Apple can make better margins off it, if you kept up with recent reports the profit per phone has been dropping and this will help raise it up.

I don't think Apple ever planned for this to be a 'cheaper' iPhone.

There a Company, even if they had 100x the money they have now they would still give 0 ****s about customers. They will do whats best for them (the company).

A lot of people who do not know the innards will see the 5C as a "new" phone. They don't see it as a 5 in a plastic case.

They see 5S and 5C. Both new, one is cheaper.

End of story.
 
Android's market share just jumped.

Bring on Android 4.4 and the Nexus 5 very soon and the Galaxy S4 early next year.

So glad i moved ship after the 4S because Apple are seriously drip feeding now.

The Security ring is just a gimmick just like SIRI. The novely will wear off.
Apple haven't really innovated since the 4S and they have had like 2yrs. In the same time HTC, Sony and Samsung have made leaps. Android has come along way too.

iOS 7.0 looks childish compared to Android's new design language...which some may say is subjective but personally i like it!

Samsung are already doing 4K cameras and USB 3.0 in the new NOTE 3 so you just know the S4 is going to come with the newest technologies......and oh ye, Apple cant use the Samsung use Plastic line anymore.....5C! Busted ;)
 
Well, what a disappointment. It just shows that since Jobs died Apple have lost direction and the ability to innovate. I've had many Apple products over the years, the classic iPod, iPod touch, iPod shuffle, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad mini so it's not like I'm some Apple hater but I can't see myself buying anything more from them. The Iphone 5S doesn't even match up to the current Android phones so if it's going to be another 12 months before the iPhone 6 comes out then I think Apple will be miles behind Android by that point.

All Apple had to do was to make a slightly bigger screen, add wireless charging and I'd have been happy but instead they release a phone which is almost identical to the one they released 12 months ago.

/goes off to investigate the HTC One Max...

That's a bit of an unfair request considering that.

It really is just a consideration at the minute :) My contract isn't up until November, so I'll look more into specific handsets then. I just feel Apple are slowly slipping behind consumer needs and their competition.

That thread was moved/merged in 22:58, I posted my post in 21:43.

He posted it in a thread in the Apple sub forum. He did not post it in the mobile forum at the time.

It was 100% fair when I said that.

So I don't know what you are talking about...:confused:

Exactly it goes to show they do not care about their customers! The innards prove that the 5c is basically a 5 with a plastic shell... Barely any movement on price ! No new tech.. People who do not realise this are being brainwashed by apples marketing and pitches.

Evidently he posted in the correct thread if it was merged? I didn't mean to say he posted in the other thread. I'm saying he is entitled to talk about other phones.

Actually he is right! I never visit the apple forum and I always go on the mobile section.. Its saved a bookmark on my phone and I did actually go on moved thread which I forgot about I should have said earlier..

It was moved way before that because I was watching England play Ukraine at the time and they kicked off at 19:45... So yes It was moved before the time you specified.

The topic of this thread is all things relating to the iphone 5c/5s unless another thread is allowed to be created.

I don't think pointing out what a mod has previously said means much in the context of what has happened.

It's actually also the only reason I've had to come to this subforum today.

And a very valid question it is too. All I see these days are people moaning that Apple can't innovate.

Well what have other manufacturers done that's truly innovative? A new screen technology, a bigger screen... Is that really innovative? I'll concede that Nokia did well with their 48MP camera, but that's the only stand out for me.

But that said, is that innovation? It's not a new innovation, it's the improvement of an existing technology.

Now, a fingerprint reader that can be used for security as well as payment authentication... sounds innovative. Anyone done that yet...? Nope.

Hmm, looks like Apple can still innovate. :D
 
Apple haven't given devs long to get their apps submitted! There's going to be a lot of apps that aren't fully iOS 7 compatible come the 18th.
