Settings:

ring at 35 ratio, VCCIN voltage:2.100.

cpu core voltage:1.250

ring voltage: 1.125

4.2ghz: 20 Intel burn tests at High setting, max temp 85c

4.3ghz: 20 IBT tests at high aswel, max temp: 86-87c

4.3ghz: prime 95 1 hour torture test, max temp: 75c

Obvs underload.

Are these overclocks safe for 24/7 use? I only play games and edit photos as well as music and web surf on this machine.

What's next? Use the pc as normal and see if it BSOD's or would the IBT 20 runs at high show its stable?

its the ring ratio i think. its called cache on asus boards.

you should try to at least get it within 4x of the core ratio for best performance.

Thanks, rekon itll raise temps much or ill be ok? Its at 88c tops under load tight now and haswell limiti is 90 then they under clock themselves i think :/. Thanks again btw

limit is 100.

basically unless you get over 80 in normal use (not prime or linx) then thats fine.

8 pack recommends that you just use the pc, rather than use stress testing to determine stability.

what i do is stress test for an hour or so, then run some games etc.

if it crashes at some point, check the bugcheck code in windows event viewer and google to find out which voltage to increase ;)

Why so high a VIN voltage :o
that adds a lot of extra heat to the cpu, try a lower VIN you dont need 2.1v
VIN has to be within 0.4v off your cpu vcore.

Unless you play IBT and Prime 24/7 i dont feel as though it will be a problem. Just up the ring like everyone has said. Be nice to see what your actual temps are when using the computer normally.

I don't know :/ in just following this guide:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1722630/intel-god-quick-dirty-guide-4ghz-haswell.html

Then got told to put ring ratio closer to cpu ratio.

So now my settings are:

CPU ratio:43

Ring ratio: 41 (it wasent having 42)

Cpu voltage: 1.250

Ring voltage :1.180 (was blue screening until i got upto this voltage)

Vccin: 2.100

Think im nearly there , it ran a 20 run high Intel burn test, any idea about what lower vccin might work mate?

This is my first and last overclock until i get a new system i think :/

Iv upped it to 41 x it wasent having 42 ratio without stupid high voltages ,

Atm its at:

Cpu ratio: 43

Ring ratio: 41

Vccin: 2.100

Cpu voltage: 1.250

Ring voltage:1.180 ( needed to survive the ibt without bluescreening or freeze)

Max during ibt was 87
