undoing a partitian on ssd

Hi, I have a crucial m4 128gb ssd and partitioned it in two halves, I got the OS, drivers ect on one half while I put the odd benchmark programmes and a couple of games on the other partition.

Now I have noticed I'm fast running out of space on the OS partition so wonder if it is possible to undo the partition to make it just one 128GB drive again without disturbing the OS, if so how do I go about doing it.

you'd have to backup the non os partition,then delete/format it and extend the os partition to fill the drive
 
you can use partition magic,or maybe windows has its own partition tool

and yes just format the partition then extend the os one to fill the drive
 
You don't need Partition Magic, Just Windows Disk Management. Delete the partition I Disk Management and then reboot. Resize the boot partition in Disk management to where you want it and apply it. There are one partition on no extra budget. Why buy extra tools when you already have the tools Windows supplies. They have been there since Windows XP and there is no excuse not to know what they do.
When installing Windows on an unpartitioned drive Windows itself uses these uttilities to partition and check the Hard Disk. Windows 8 even optimizes the Trim for you.

Thanks, I have just got round to doing this but after deleting the partition and rebooting the extend volume option is greyed out, how do I extend it?

You'll need to use Partition Magic, GParted or the like. The Windows tool doesn't let you extend the OS partition.
 
Midtown the simplest ideas are missed completely. You should have backed up your data before deleting the boot partition. Now you are going to have to remount the Boot partition again to back up your data. Once that is done delete all partitions on the drive and reinstall windows 8 on your drive which will automatically partition and format the drive, once completed you can restore your programs and replace your data from your backup. Just be mindful of the paths laid out be the data in the previous install and change the paths accordingly so your data is read from the correct source directory.
 
all he has to do is extend the os partition to fill the drive (resize the os )

easus partition master plus freeware programs will do that,ive only used easus myself
 
I use many myself, but the issue isn't about the partition really because the best way to stop junk build up on the SSD. When you install a new OS on an SSD you need it to be clean and the drive to be clean for quick access.
