Can I get something straight...
Is low ohms more turns in a coil i.e. 1.2 ohms is low, where 2.6 ohms is more turns in the coil and is called high ohms?
you need a degree to build it
it came preassembled so i filled it with juice and nothing happened, faffed around with it a bit then just lost patience. the spheroid is about my limit
Thats not a clone is it scorch il buy it off you on friday.
ok, so low ohms = less turns (1.6ohms) = less heat?
High ohms = More turns (2.6ohms) = More heat?
Crap, no that's wrong isn't it.
I think it should be
low ohms = less turns (1.6ohms) = more heat?
High ohms = More turns (2.6ohms) = less heat?
I have some 0.15mm (34 AWG I think) Kanthal A1 if it's any good
The less resistance there is, the more current flows through the coil compared to a high resistance coil at the same voltage. More current means more heat. Other than that, you're right. Thicker wire is lower resistance (think of water flowing through a thick hose compared to a straw).
In short, on a fixed voltage battery, low resistance = hotter coil
I'm trying to work out what to wick my aga t2 to when the chi you clone turns up. I saw you said it would need to be low resistance. So I need thick wire and low turns. I don't want to damage my batteries! I can check ohms on my vv mod.
Thats thicker then .2 kanthal is it not? if so that will be perfect.
